Trump opted out of the Paris Agreement shortly after gaining office, and has hammered away at the domestic and international climate policies of his predecessor, Barack Obama.
Trump wants to relax pollution rules for coal-fired power plants and roll back car-mileage standards, the twin pillars of Obama's Clean Energy Plan.
He has also challenged California's right to set its own vehicle fuel standards.
A monster hurricane threatening to unleash "catastrophic" flooding and storm surges on the US East Coast - bearing the telltale fingerprint of climate change - underscores that reality.
US mayors, governors and business leaders - under the banner "We Are Still In" - have pushed back by adopting more ambitious targets at the local level.

Now you say a monster Hurricane is coming to whack USA - get out of here.
Trump, how much money you are going to pay for the damages? Few hundred billions of dollars?
Trump you want to pull out of Paris Climate Agreement to save a few billion dollars.
Now Trump got to pay multiple more ---- as Universal Law of Karma whack Trump-led US --- calling Global Climate a hoax.
And for daring to pull out of Paris Climate Agreement.

A person llike Trump and his environmental aides - think that they are the king of the World - and can act with impunity - to harm all humanity on Earth - calling Global Climate a hoax - and attempt to further damage the Environment and the humanity consequently.
And US actively block the progress in climate talk in Bangkok just few day ago.
Now this Universal Law of Karma - will take effect immediately --- to demonstrate to Trump and his environmental aides ---- that there is such a thing call the "Higher Calling" - known as Karma.
When Trump and his environmental aides - fail to see karma in his life time and with immediate effect - Trump think he is a king and can act with impunity.
