Dr Thum also believes Singapore should be part of Malaya, said Mr Lee, and declared that it was his "fervent wish" that Singapore "will one day return to our rightful place alongside our brothers and sisters in Malaya", and pointed that Dr Thum had made several other posts to similar effect.
"The three individuals claim that they are patriots. It is not patriotic to invite any foreign leader to intervene in Singapore politics, especially the leader of a country who has declared his desire to increase the price of water to Singapore by more than ten times, and with whom we seek to maintain close and friendly relations," Mr Lee added in his statement.

Who is Dr Thum to decide that Singapore should be part of Malaya?

If such wish and such act is not "traitor" - then what is?

And the objective of soliciting foreign interference - which is a plan or implicit effort to overthrow, cause unrest, calling Singapore Sovereignty into question or make Singapore worst off, harming the interest of all Singaporeans ---- is in effect an indirect effort to commit treason.

Definition of treason (Dictionary.com):-

- the offense of acting to overthrow one's government or to harm or kill its sovereign.
- a violation of allegiance to one's sovereign or to one's state.
- the betrayal of a trust or confidence; breach of faith; treachery.

LKY himself addressed this issue stating that eventually Singapore may return to be Part of Malaysia. It is not just Mr Thum or any other Singaporean. Shanmugam loves to run down Fellow Singaporeans who speak up for Singapore. What a Shame witnessing Singaporeans Fighting Amongst Singaporeans. And worse still Those in Authority amongst Everyday Singaporeans.

All these Singaporean people go to Malaysia on their Independence Day and tell foreign PM to interfere in Singapore Sovereignty and interests -- and you say is ok.

It is done at the time when this foreign PM want to increase our price 10 times - and you say is ok?

You must be one of these few people or comrades of these few people - who are trying to harm Singapore's interest.

Derek Ee - who gave them the right to represent Singapore's interest?
And who gave you the right to say what these people did - represent Singapore's Sovereignty and interests?

Are you saying these few individuals including you --- are given rights to represent the fate of all Singaporeans?

These few Singaporeans -- without authority to represent Singapore ---- by presenting the view that "Singapore is part of Malaya" to a foreign PM --- is infringing Singapore Constitution.

Is this not an act of "treason"?

Derek Ee - and you say this is "ok"?

Expressing personal view - is one's prerogative - but presenting it to a foreign PM is another thing all together - when these people have no authority to do so nor did they represent the interest of all Singaporeans.

There are 2 types of reader, and their comment indicate which one they belongs to.

S-type that has great imagination, creativity.
T-type are meticulous, and critical.

how are they categories by their comment is simple.

S-type will use vocabulary such as traitor, migrate, treason and etc. Such creative words require a certain amount of imagination.

T-type will look on both side of the story. Verify the facts, and only comment when necessary.

Well, seems like most commenters here belongs to the S-type. Kind of like S whole people.

Watari Jin - Read the following fact :-

PJ Thum, Kirsten Han, Jolovan Wham and Sonny Liew met with Dr Mahathir on Thursday. Dr Thum invited Dr Mahathir to bring democracy to Singapore.

PJ Thum went further the next day. On August 31, Malaysia’s “national day”, he posted an unusual greeting, “Selamat Hari Merdeka to the people of the former Federation of Malaya”, and suggested that Singaporeans should also rejoice on that day since it was Singapore’s “unofficial independence day”.

Separately, in a comment on a TOC video post, Teo Soh Lung said that "Singapore is part of Malaya la".

The strongman here wants to establish a “win-win” relationship with the strongman they have very low opinion of so what if, they(as offended as you) take a win-lose stand instead? Is that “interference”?

You will then be pressured to up your “prosperity gospel”
with your congregation of supportive tithers?

Lessons in court taught you nothing?

Sham is the defendant of this complaint. Of course he stands by comments, and continue to made accusation to Dr Thum.

There's the General Election, which has taken place every 5 years since 1965, and the PAP has prevailed each time. The majority of the people voted for the PAP, and one would have thought that's true democracy at work. There was no intimidation or threat made against any voter, and the voting process has been transparent, above board [no hanky-panky], and completely trusted by the people. Then, we all remember there's the minority. They could either accept the results, or they could go form a political party to contest the GE. Seems to me, Thum and "comrades" [excluding Sonny Liew, for whom I have a high regard for his literary works], for choice of a better description, are not prepared to do even the latter, as they know they are likely to be humiliated at the Polls. So, they take a different [but rather dubious] route to try and slap the faces of the contented majority. Thum, for instance, pokes fun about our nation's "illegal" independence.

They are frustrated that the PAP has been in power for the last 53 years, and now they try to exploit the Mahathir's return to power, upseating UMNO/BN, as what is needed also in Singapore. They give no respect to the majority, they have no credible agendas to better the current government's policies, agendas and action. They have no viable alternatives to offer, on anything. They are just aiming for one thing - topple the PAP from the government. Why? The answer is fairly obvious - they simply cannot digest the hard truth that the majority of the people understand that governing the nation, and her people, is not an easy task; and that no government can be immaculately good in the job, but the PAP, in government, has done wonders over the years, though there are presenly some sticky issues which require deep analysis, review, and probably changes for the better. The term 'democracy" really means nothing if there is no good governance. The PAP has been challenged over the years at the poll by several political parties but the PAP won a resounding victory each time to form the government, because it does offer good, though not perfect, governance.

Perhaps Thum and "comrades" ought to take their case to the Speakers' Corner. Alternatively, they may wish to consider meeting up with LHL to learn from the PM how the PAP continues to be loved, and respected, by the majority of the people. This meeting will be more fruitful than the one with Mahathir, for with "true enlightenment" comes understanding, instead of living in endless confusion and misery. .

Of course foreigner leaders shouldn't be involved. They would only call the government out on the lies that they happily feed their populus. That would get in the way of the fearmongering, so of course it's a "no-no".
