(1) Good as long as the Water Agreement is not affected as stated:-
"Asked if the effort will impact the Water Agreement talks between Malaysia and Singapore, Dr Xavier said there will be no effect and the agreement still stands."
---- then I don't see why this is not a good news to us ---- as we do not need to supply treated water at a loss.

(2) And hope drought that often make water level below critical level in river and reservoir as well as pollution that pollute the water source will not cause problem.
Let everyone see whether the goal is achievable or not.

Johor will be independent of Singapore for treated water in 2022 just like Singapore will qualify for World Cup in 2034

Dr Xaviar please check how many times there is water supply stoppage to the homes and factories around johore before you say this. Water supply stoppages occurs nearly once every month for at least 2 days and you say johore to stop depending on spore for supply of water

M'sian ministers aren't exactly men of their word, from what we have seen.

When 2022 rolls along, they will change their tune and say that because of climate change, etc, and since S'pore buys raw water from M'sia, therefore they are entitled to S'pore's treated water for the next 100 years.

I wish them success not only not depending on Singapore for treated water, but also able to protect their water from pollution and expand their catchment areas so that they have sufficent water to treat and supply to Singapore.

This Xavier has the face of a toddy drinker. He must have drunk alot before speaking out. This is just like saying MALAYSIA BOLEH. Come 2022 he will like his 94 year old snake bend down to lick up your sputum. He is another Bodoh who is trying to out do his counterparts and receive attention. why dont he also say Johore dont depend on Singaporeans going there to shop and eat? The trouble is there are far too many Bodohs running the country in Malaysia today.

By 2022, Malaysia has to be rainning everyday from today inorder to hit that target. Their Minister has special eye sight that can see very far even though the climate changed is taking place. Anyway good luck to them, the world is watching.

Malaysia say target by 2022, most likely the goalpost will move to 2032. Maybe 2061 even. Let's see how it goes. Exactly like how the Malaysia-Singapore HSR goes... they say target 2026, but till now not even start. No agreement either.

Remember how Mahathir said he would step down in 2 years?

Maybe this is Xavier's plan to hang around till Johor becomes water independent 😏

Anybody can just go and make any statement. Like for eg I will send a man to the moon by next year. It's just talk. Talk is cheap.

Okay, go ahead and build new water treatment plants. Be sure to award the contracts to cronies. When time comes for these plants to go operational, we will most likely hear the usual excuses: “alamak, how come the plants are not working properly and need so many repairs and spare parts?”

Sure hope that this Xavier Jayakumar have Masagos Zulkifli’s private HP number. If not, he can always call our Ministry of Environment & Water Resources(MEWR) at +65 6731 9000.

Fast forward to 2022:

Xavier already deleted Masagos’ HP#, so when the new water treatment plants are not churning out the min daily volume of treated water, he will instruct his aides to call Singapore.

The aide calls 6731 9000 and the call was answered by the third ring:

Aide: “I am calling on behalf of his excellency Xavier Jayakumar, he would like to speak with Encik Masagos now!”

NEA Interactive Voice Response (IVR): “Thank you for calling MEWR. For English, press 1, for Mandarin, press 2, for desperate foreigners with water crisis, press 8.”

Aide presses 8.

NEA IVR: “If you are a half-past 6 Minister with water crisis, press 1. If you are Clueless (blur like Sotong), press 2. For all the above, press 3.”

Aide presses 3.

NEA IVR: “Thank you for calling MEWR. Our water resources are for the well-being of Singaporeans. We may not want to expand our resources to help foreigners sought out their mess. You may leave us your contact info for our officers to consider your case. If your water crisis is causing you to be scolded by people on social media, we recommend you seek immediate help from another service provider. Call 1-800-Wakanda4Ever to see if they can solve your crisis.

We can, however, help you to take out the TRASH. For this service, please press 5.”

Good for SG taxpayer as we don't have to subsidise RM1.90 per thousand gallons. For that extra 11 mgd of treated water given to them, just add that up. I think that they will still buy water from SG because they earn ton of dollars by selling it back to their citizen.
