And Indonesia GDP is about US$1.042 trillion - the largest economy in ASEAN.
(3) Thus by working closely with Indonesia economically - will help to foster trade, business, investment and help to fuel economic growth between Singapore and Indonesia.
(4) By doing so, Singapore can help Indonesia to connect to China BRI sea route - and will help to grow trade activiteis in Singapore ports, Indonesia ports and China ports - and berth at the various port of calls.
(5) With increasing trade, business and investment - more travel will take place between Singapore and Indonesia airports and seaports.
(6) Indonesia will also benefits from Singapore and China BRI sea route - whether traversing through Singapore Straits or through Arctic route - as Indonesia trade can join the BRI sea silk route - going either via routes - and will not miss the mammoth BRI trade routes.

Something i had suggested a few years ago that Singapore must be brave and start forging joint-venture business alliances with Indonesia, Philippines, and even with Bangkok corporate wealthy, here in Singapore especially, to create multinational corporations on farming, R&D, tourism, educatuon and more, creating meaningful jobs for our locals. Negotiate JV also with the corporate wealthy of Philuppines as well.

This is what a President should be like, should be doing. Too many Presidents are hiding in an ivory tower, far from the people, and interacts only with noblities that they have no sense of the ground. Indonesia is going to prosper under his leadership.

Indonesia is blessed with a good President, Mr Widodo. He is something a bit like China "Deng Xiaoping", focused on development instead of Race and Religion. Deng Xiaoping came to Singapore to learn what Singapore has to offer despite Singapore being a little Red dot, Mr Widodo seems to be doing the same. Indonsia will be the next "Tiger" in Asean if subsequent Presidents keep to the same philosophy!

that could have the potential for economical growth because of the closed proximity with Singapore sharing the same sea water oppositie each other. I wonder why all these years none of the previous presidents were able to see what President Joko Widodo could see now otherwise the two islands could be blooming with growth by now just like our immediate northern neighbour Johore.

This is the kind of neighbour we want.
Kind and friendly. We go into joint ventures like Industrial Park with them and many more. Not selling durians and manufacturing cars. We will always teach the Indonesians whom we find are more friendly and trustworthy. and help them develop. We are not jealous of their progress and prosperity. We would like to see them succeed.

Our leaders will help you, President Jokowi. We want to see Indonesia prosper. Indonesia has everything to become a develop country within 10 years, But must have a President like Jokowi who have the interest of the Indonesians at heart and not just his children.
