Yes, killing do come with a price - even though the killing is done with a good cause to save other humanity.

The price is a temporary descending into "hell" - could be physical and/or mental.
(Even Buddha or Bodhisattvas - will descend into hell - if they save the larger humanity but somehow cause death to the evil-doers)

But the negative karma will be burnt out very quickly and propel into a better realm - because of the "holy act" of saving the larger humanity at large.

Note :- The Universal law of karma for All killings - is descended into Hell (no matter what is the reason for killings).

But the differences is that if the killings is to save the larger community of humanity at large or cruelty killing or killing for other selfish means.

Thus some group claim that "holy war" will propel the jihadists to ascend to "heaven" is flaw - because it is not in synch with Universal Law of karma.

No divine beings will order "holy war" because by doing so, the divine beings will also descend into "hell".

Only in very extreme case where there is a need to save the larger humanity at large - will an Enlightened being do it such as the ISIS case and the Boko Haram case.
