This tension can actually be totally avoided.
(1) N Korea should not have threatened US and S Korea by exploding a nuclear device - to force US and S Korea for a Peace Treaty. Because no one want to be threatened into a negotiation table.
N Korea should just have asked for a 6 parties negotiation for a Peace Treaty - without exploding a nuclear device.
(2) After the nuclear test, the World is already fuming with anger - and should not have fire off a long-range missile. This further inflame the anger.
Now the whole World is turning against N Korea - and it will not be advantage to N Korea for quite a long time to come.
