LTA's soil check for Cross Island Line could threaten weaker wildlife: NSS

As boreholes are being drilled and the people conducting the investigations move about at the reserve, it will cause tensions among the territorial animals there, said NSS spokesperson Anthony Dempsey.
“During the soil investigation, the animals are going to scatter, and they don’t just disappear, there’s a limit to where they can go due to the fragmentation of the nature reserve. When they scatter, they end up in each other’s territory,” Dempsey said.
I am not convinced that during soil test, when people move around the reserve, the animals will scatter and cause harm to them.
Now at the reserve, every morning and evening - there are so many joggers and adventurous groups running up and down the reserve end to end in big numbers. How come this animals are not scattered and get harm?
How come only a small group of people conducting soil test underground and some people walking on top of the reserve will cause harm to the animals?
NSS fear is just hypothetical - and this hypothetical worry which may not cause any harm to the animals - will not justified to waste an additional $2 billion to skirt the reserve.
$2 billion is a big sum of money that can be used to help alot of Singaporeans.
