Little India Riot: Injured SCDF and police officers have been discharged from hospital

Babe
Rescue officers responding to accident victims – are pelted with stones, bottles and projectiles by rioters are intolerable.

The breaking down of public law and order, injuring our policemen and civil defence force attending to accident victims, destroying and damaging of police cars, ambulances, private cars, shops and goods – deserve the full weight of our law.

I think we cannot tolerate people whom we extend our hospitality for giving them jobs but instead turn riot and breakdown our social order here.

Losing a life through accident is an unfortunate event and condolence to the victim family.
But in the first place, did the victim jaywalk or did it occur when the traffic light is in favour of the pedestrian?
I recall driving through Little India can be a very harrowing experience for car drivers because :-
No 1 - People can be seen walking or dashing through a 4 to 5 lane roads jay-walking without observing proper traffic rules.
No 2 – Cars travelling along Little India – better not switch lane because if your eyes are block by cars in front of you and if you switch lanes – you will not be able to see people standing in the middle of the roads even though cars zip passed them – and may knock them down.
No 3 – People spilling out on the road from grass patches when too many people congregate.

The Home Team should hv done better!!

better in what sense?

Actually agree. When police responded to emergency call, already so many police cars are there.

Without a riot taking place, not realistic for SOC and Gurkha Contingent to respond as well with the 1st emergency call.
