In other words, China has not actually win over Philippines as friend -- because "the relationship is not operating on the right principle" ---- this is a very fundamental attribute in any relationship.

An analogy :-
No friends can be established by the principle of "Might is Right" - I am mightier, so be my friend, else ...... hir hir hir..... ---- "Win-Lose" relationship.
True friends can only be established by "Win-Win relationship" ---- "You are OK. I am OK".
