Wonder if US is not interested in trade, in TPP, in engaging the economic partners in Asia Pacfic, what is the purpose of the naval deployment in SCS?

Asia Pacific countries will want Economic benefits and Security benefits.
If US does not offer Economic benefits to Asia Pacific countries - but only sending in naval fleets - wonder what benefits will Asia Pacific regions reap - except more military confrontation and conflict.
