Police fire tear gas as Hong Kong protesters defy face mask ban in Halloween march

Regional Correspondent  31 Oct 2019

(1) At the periphery roads, riot police formed cordons to prevent more from joining the crowds.
(2) Meanwhile, a Hong Kong court on Thursday evening (31 Oct 2019) granted an interim injunction banning members of the public from using the Internet to publish information that promotes, encourages or incites violence.
It specially mentions two online platforms popular among protesters - messaging app Telegram and online forum LIHKG.

(1) There are 2 main essence of Emergency Order that will make emergency measures effective - are not implemented :-
(a) Transportation to protest site - if transport such as MTR and bus services are not make available to transport protestors to protest sites - then violent protest will not take place (as without the mass - violent radical protestors will be easily overwhelm and arrest can be made).
(b) (i) Communication channel and medium to organise protest - such as Telegram, Whatsapp, Web hosting site are not block - organisers can mobilise protestors to protest site that will lead to violent protest. If they are effectively blocked when protests are being organised - then protestors will have no information to go to the protest sites.
(ii) Media broadcast - especially those who leak news to protestors to facilitate the protest movement - need to be curbed to toe official lines - so that protestors will not have real time information to flock to the protest sites to create havoc.
(2) If the above main ingredients of Emergency Order are implemented - then it is possible to derail the HK protest movement and easy for HK Police to quickly maneouvre to capture those protestors (which will be decimated) that roam around the street doing violent unlawful assembly and actions.
(3) The success of Emergency Order to quell unrest are :-
(i) Curfew - prevent people from coming out of the street to create chaos - and restricting transport - have some effect of curfew.
(ii) Communication, information and intellgence - by not curbing free flow of information it provide protestors to organise mass protest - that will overwhem Police strength - and work to the disadvantages of the Police force.
(iii) Giving Police the advantage of intelligence, mobility, legislative power to restrict, stop and arrest protestors - HK unrest can be quell quickly.

Anti-mask law is good to make Police enforcement easier - but protestors can turn out in big number and defy the face mask ban - and Police cannot act.
The above measures will decimate protestors' strength - and Police can effectively carry out their enforcement and stop the unrest.

    (1) Mainland China business should stop dealing with HK business and HK people - who violently protest against China.

    (2) These will discourage HK business from employing violent HK protestors - who look down on the mainland Chinese.

    (3) HK protestors can be left to rot - as they are no longer employable.

(1) Similarly, foreign investors who invest in HK to have business dealing with mainland China - will also have little incentives to employ HK protestors who have deep hatred for mainland China.

Beijing is pushing ahead with the bay area project, which aims to turn Hong Kong, Macau and nine Guangdong cities into a financial and technology hub to rival Silicon Valley by 2035.........No wonder they want to come in to create trouble to put a spanner in the works so that they dont have competition........LOL

(1) Once China investors pull back their investment and move back to Shengzhen, Shanghai or Guandong - then HK people employ by these companies will start to loss jobs.

(2) Once China mainlanders move back to China and China tourists stop coming to HK to shop - more HK businesses will collapse and more HK people will lose their jobs.

(3) Once China develop Shengzhen, Shanghai and Guandong to attract more foreign investors - many foreign investors will bypass HK and go straight to China mainland --- and HK will lose all its significance to foreign business and investors --- and these HK people will shoot themselves on the foot and left to rot.

Yes, just go back where you belong and where you are most comfortable with, you can find a job in China of course, why come to take away hkongers jobs at the very first place?? Ironically, China's super rich paid hefty sums for their flats in hk pushing up house prices at an alarming rate, why?? Simple answer, they are not just paying for a flat, they are buying into hk's 'free' institutions. How can you mainlanders get so confused, you are supporting a govt. that rival your beliefs and desires??

Communist China GET out of HK. You are not welcomed. Those coming to HK use to buy milk powder causing inflationary prices and affecting HK families. Do such simple issues cause many unhappiness. Just like mainlanders snapping up properties in HK like they are rich elites.

Hong Kong bars democracy activist Joshua Wong from local election

    • ricky l
      now
      (1) Joshua Wong is a troublemaker - and has been actively exporting "HK violent protest, civil disobedience" around the World --- to destabilise Countries and Societies.

      (2) Banning him is the right move.

      (3) Many Countries have banned him from entries to make speeches about his ideologies to destabilise Society.

Who is he trying to bluff? Any intention for self-determination will eventually lead to the breaking away of Hong Kong from China with the possibility of joining Taiwan or making Hong Kong a pretectorate of the US or UK. A correct action by the election officier. A follow-up action would be taken against him is the issuance of an order from the LegCo to strip off his citizenship on the ground of having commited treasonable acts against Hong Kong and China by colluding with foreign countries to act against the interests of Hong Kong and China; and be deported.

      (1) If HK protestors refuse to acknowledge the gravity and the consequences of their violent actions --- then they deserve "they reap what they sow".

      (2) Now this recession is the outcome of their actions - that will gravely impact their own livelihood.

Fear of a major recession of mass unemployment have yet to hit the majority of the people. When the #$%$ hit the fan it will reverberates among the masses. She will probably be the first city in the world to face it. No one to blame but herself for allowing her youths and other countries to instigate her into this situation.
