Singapore and China are true all weather friends - 交心的朋友。
The relationship span many decades.
Singapore is the largest investors in China and has worked in many projects in China.
Thus, there may be some occasional differences in perspective, both Countries relationship can weather the storm and prosper together.

Singapore joint investment with China in Suzhou, Tianjin, Nanjing, Chongqing eco-city has spurred many projects.
Chongqing in particular is the nexus of One Belt One Road (OBOR) where links from Europe, Africa, Middle East, Russia and SE-Asia converged.
Singapore investors and business in China has participated in many OBOR projects.
In addition, Singapore will contribute to the southern side of OBOR linkage - maritime and road.
So China and Singapore does see the mutual benefits - and Singapore has played and contributed to the China's initiative of OBOR - that will opened up rail, roads, maritime infrastructure that will further promote, open up and fuel more trade within Asia, Europe, Middle East, Russia and SE Asia.
Singapore will also act as catalyst to grow ASEAN and China's trade to $1 trillion.
So there are minor differences in perspective that cause some hiccups between Singapore and China.
But both Singapore and China can weather this storm in the teacup - and contribute massively to the benefit of both Singapore, China - as well as the ASEAN and Asia Pacific region - plus helping to catalyse trade and economic growth into Europe, Middle East, Central Asia and Africa.
This will be the mammoth benefits that Singapore and China can benefit collectively.

As this article merely state that Singapore help to bankroll in the OBOR - may not truely reflect the state of cooperation between Singapore and China.
It is much more than what is reported here.
The cooperation is at all level and extensively pervasive - from local government, junior officers, to private business, investment, state-owned business, investment, senior government officers, sovereign funds, banks, engineering expertise, etc - in provinces, county, etc.
So the occasional frictions are overly emphasize and reported - like quarrel between husband and wife.
But the level of cooperation and trust - can never be understated - including the grooming of leadership.

I'm sporean. But sometimes sg govt like to slap themselves in their faces. There's no such thing as want to earn money with China yet support americunts in other policy.
- ricky lDon't be a fool lah.
There are no Countries in this World where we work with one Country and ignore the rest of the World.
For eg.
(1) We buy and use Chinese medicine, but we also need to use and buy Western medicine.
(2) We learn and use Chinese language, but we also need to learn and use Engligh language.
(3) We buy and use Chinese IT products such as huawei, weibo, alibaba, lenovo etc but we also need to buy and use US microsoft, google, facebook, cisco etc.
(4) We buy Chinese foods such as cabbage, buns, apples, pears etc but also US steak, apples, oranges etc.
etc etc.
Don't tell me in this World any Countries only deal with one Country and not the other?
China also deal with many Countries all over the World what including US.
SatoriusMy goodness! What is Singapore thinking? Putting any bad blood between China and Singapore aside, the OBOR project is just too risky from a business standpoint.
Even Hong Kong's Chinese University thinks so. China obviously wants us to throw money away stupidly and our government is too afraid to say 'No' to China.
http://www.bschool.cuhk.edu.hk/index.php/articles/2789-china-warned-of-risk-to-banks-from-one-belt-one-road-initiative- ricky lEvery project before we embarked and finance - will carry out risk assessment and risk analysis before committing.
No companies or banks will just commit and bankroll a project without doing risk assessment.
Bearing in mind, an infrastructure project is carried out in a 3rd Country.
It will need the commitment of at least 3 parties - ie. China, Singapore and the Country involved in which infrastructure project is being carried out. - ricky lWhy is China still trading with US if to pick side?
