With declining birth rate, the number of male Singaporeans to serve National Service to protect and provide security to Singapore has dwindled.
Thus serving National Service is paramount and cannot be compromised.
However, Singaporeans must be assured of jobs to ensure they have income to sustain their living.

For those who are willing to be retrained, aids must be given to help them to get trained and place them in jobs.
