Different context to jihad in today's society: Singapore Islamic scholar
ricky l
In Islam, the term jihad – which linguistically means “struggle” – can refer to both a believer’s personal spiritual struggle for self-improvement or the physical struggle against enemies of the faith.
---
Personal spiritual struggle for self-improvement is the crux of all religious teachings - to forgo mundane that are unwholesome and embrace spiritual supramundane that are wholesome.
However physical struggle against enemies of the faith is not a teaching in religions that preach peace, harmony, non-violent, no killings.
We must conscientiously, consciously preach this - so that there will be no holy killings, no holy violent, no physical violence against non-believers of a faith.
Human should only be convince by concepts, ideas and teachings - and not physical violence.
This is Holiness of all Religions.
