Trump is the worst performing President ever produced in US history.

Trump is never a strategic guy.
Trump is just a self-centred, self-serving, manipulative, exploitative guy.
And as a result, will never have the vision, insight of a strategic guy - to be able to make America great again.
In fact, US will be very lucky if Trump will not harm US interest - economically, politically and geopolitical influence globally - that it will take US a very difficult time to pick up long after Trump is gone from the political scene.

Trump being self-centred, self-serving can only see 1 feet in front of him - and thus cannot be strategic - as strategic means can see very far, very wide - where issues still has yet to arise - but is able to see.
Being strategic need to possess Wisdom. Without Wisdom, can't be strategic.
