Inward looking policies is the catalyst for Deep Depression in 1930s - that trigger WW2.
It started by US and trigger a domino effects in Europe - that started the World War 2.
Current scenarios - is frightfully similar to the circumstances in 1930s.
It start with Occupy Wall Street, trigger Arab Spring, follow by Brexit and then come the Trump syndrome ---- and there is one call the up and coming Le Pen - will she fail just like the Netherland who fail in the attempt?

Disruptive technologies do disrupt business and jobs - causing business loss and job loss.
Rampant foreign immigrants (unlike regulated immigrants to complement local workforce) - do displaced local workers.
There must be an effective system to help local business to survive and thrive.
There must also be an effective system to help local workers to get themselves re-employed and if displaced by disruptive technologies, to get workers re-trained to get themselves re-employed.
Only then populist, isolationist, protectionist candidates such as Trump syndrome, Brexit syndrome and hopefully le pen syndrome will no arise.
