Well done, if Singapore is
able to be self-reliance in producing Green cars – such as this electric-charged car – then the whole dimension for our energy backend infrastructure
change.
The micro-grid concept of
buying and selling back to the National Grid also make sense. Microgrid will
not only support the charging of the car, but also produce energy for street
lighting and even housing, offices, production plant etc.
Electric-car does not produce
carbon monoxide and pollute the air from engine combustion.
And our air will even be
cleaner – free from car used
pollutants.
And better still, we can be increasingly more self-reliant on
our energy needs – like
water.
But there is one catch, our
small land size will prohibit going into the car industry in a big way and make
our electric car production viable - unless we able to penetrate into export
market.
COE is still very prohibitive and the mainstay of transport
system is still public transport such as MRT, LRT, buses.
