“The university is the home turf of the students,” Ho-Fung Hung, a professor in political economy at Johns Hopkins University, has told the Guardian. “There is this notion of academic freedom and the university as a bastion of free ideas, this notion of autonomy. To people, this should not be breached by authorities.” -- (1) Does that means that murderers, arsonists, causing harm to others, etc - can hide in the University - and the Police cannot touch them?
No place should be considered too sacred for police to do their work. Or else they are just safe havens for people who has broken the law. That prof Ho should be arrested for his misguided teachings.
I wonder how our Police would respond to bricks and petrol bombs being thrown at them? At seeing violent thugs wreck shops and MTR stations plus assaulting people who disagree with them? Many of these protestors are hooligan filth. They claim to be pro democracy and then attack those who disagree with them. The Chinese should send in their army to sort them out before the economy of HK is destroyed.
Hey rioters. Dare to set fire to others but dare not burn yourself to death. Practise self immolation and you will gain the sympathy of the world like the Vietnamese monk.. The South Vietnamese finally collapsed. Who knows if 100 of you burn yourself to death the HK will collapse. No need to use violence.
Surrender, escape like a rat through sewage tunnel, my goodness! They proclaim that they will die fighting!! Ha Ha better go home to your mother, pork rib soup is good for you bad boys. Joshua Wong is doing that, you too silly.
