In infrastructure building, it is important that materials used are for eg :- (1) low smoke (2) halogen free (3) non-combustible (4) fire-rated etc.
This is to ensure that if a fire broke out, residents in the building will not be succumb to smoke or materials will not help fire to spread. Safety is paramount in infrastructure buildings.
