This MRT line will alleviate the Green line and Orange line -- that is heavily used and no redundancy when the MRT line break down). This MRT line will provide redundancy if the Green line and Orange line breakdown - and also commuters have choice to pick the redundant line if one line is congested. Also spending additional $2 billion for skirting is a no-no - as going underground and skirt 40 meters underground is good enough - as it will not disturb the reserve, the water catchment and the animals. ricky l20 seconds ago $2 billion can build 10,000 HDB flats for Singaporeans - it should not be wasted just to please this so called "nature groups" - who don't understand how difficult to earn that $2 billion --- who think money drop from the sky or grow on the trees. If the nature group still want to skirt - tell them to wear skirts and go fly kites.

I remembered Govt asking for feedback and most against the idea of digging under the catchment area. This is a good example that feedback are just noises. They will do what they want to do.

Singaporeans have lived their lives so peacefully with God blessed nature and now we are going to tamper it. Is it necessary? Why??. The government need to be transparent just tell us is because of millions of population going to come in. Please have plan for the citizens if they become minorities and be disadvantaged and not because of profiting yourselves. We don’t need such government who benefit themselves we need sincere government to put Singaporeans first.

Deeper through granite layer means even higher costs! Whether skirting longer route or deeper digging, forestation and nature reserves will be forever "altered" with long term consequences that "Stealing Other People Lunches" $$$ grab PAP will kick the can down the road eg. like HDB=$0!!!
