📢 Topic 📢
Speaking at the 73rd World Health Assembly yesterday, Minister for Health Mr Gan Kim Yong highlighted the need for unity and cooperation amongst the international community in the fight against COVID-19.
Mr Gan, who co-chairs the multi-ministry task force handling Singapore's response to the coronavirus, highlighted the importance of lifting public health measures in a safe manner as countries make plans to gradually return to normalcy. Said Mr Gan: "We need to preserve people's livelihoods while, at the same time, continue to protect their lives and well-being. Therefore, we must adopt a cautious approach as we gradually open up and progressively roll back the measures."
How are you feeling as we approach the end of the circuit breaker?
How do you plan to adjust and adapt your routines?

1. When wearing reusable face masks is make compulsory in early Apr 2020 and maintaini dong social distancing under circuit breaker measures - it has bring the local transmission down from a height of 60 infection down to now 2.

2. So indeed reusable face masks and social distancing are the lives saver as seen by this statistical chart.

3. Thus when the Circuit breaker measures end, we must still enforce the wearing of reusable washable face masks and social distancing measures to ensure we keep the local transmission to a minimum until the vaccines are ready and the whole population are vaccinated.

[12:16 pm, 19/05/2020] : Paragraphs 1 and 2 agree except for the last liner in Paragraph 3. How much time will it take for the whole population to be vaccinated?! And also this is dependable on how soon the vaccines are ready? 😳

Superhero
[12:17 pm, 19/05/2020] : Agree that social distancing and masks wearing SHOULD continue even aft CB ends of 1 Jun

Blue and White Flag Guy
[12:18 pm, 19/05/2020] : Nobody said social distancing and mask-wearing will stop after CB
We are mostly people of common sense here we know that it takes time to transition from CB to whatever we have after CB
It's never a sudden step of change, and this is one fact that those paikias out there will never understand

Ben
[12:08 pm, 19/05/2020] : Mixed messages if we need both TraceTogether and Safe Entry. Clearly the way the app works is not understood by most people (re Data Collection). It also is only effective if 90%+ have it installed.

Rama
[12:12 pm, 19/05/2020] : Privacy issues resolved!?

Why Singaporeans aren't using Bluetooth Tracetogether Apps

Blue and White Flag Guy
[1:31 pm, 19/05/2020] : SCaMP back at it again
TraceTogether isn't a game, you don't have to stare at its UI everyday. There is absolutely no significant drain on battery for me so whoever wrote this should understand the ground first before making terrible assumptions (I guess they are too good at that anyway)

Ben
[1:33 pm, 19/05/2020] : Yes, agreed. Many misconceptions in this article,  which is why I think they need more clarity. Either that or just wait for Apple/Google to roll it out into the OS.

KS Foong
[2:03 pm, 19/05/2020] : Typical HK style. They can dowload Google map and other apps that hv location turned on and they are not afraid of being traced and they didn’t cast any doubts on how their location infor are being used.

[12:15 pm, 19/05/2020] : Police investigating ‘non-Singaporeans’ who flouted safe distancing at Robertson Quay: Masagos

[12:15 pm, 19/05/2020] : Why only one sda/two spf to handle such a large crowd!?

Superhero
[12:16 pm, 19/05/2020] : irreponsible people out and about.. hopefully a cluster wont emerge from there.. How can we encourage ppl to stay home if unwell

Ben
[12:17 pm, 19/05/2020] : People in high traffic areas need testing weekly

Blue and White Flag Guy
[12:17 pm, 19/05/2020] : That'll be too taxing

Ben
[12:17 pm, 19/05/2020] : Yes, agreed

Ben
[12:18 pm, 19/05/2020] : How many people  in PT work on platforms and by machines where there is high traffic and close proximity to the public?

Ben
[1:33 pm, 19/05/2020] : When can we expect an update from Gov regarding easing of CB measures? We know it won't be back to normal, but good to know what to look forward to :)
