📢 Topic 📢
How can we encourage more people embrace the Singapore Together movement to help more families affected by COVID-19?
Some companies have decided to return the Government's Jobs Support Scheme (JSS) payments and decline future payouts, while others are donating the money to charity, said Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat on Sunday (May 10) evening.
Mr Heng, who is also Finance Minister, added in a Facebook post: “I am very encouraged by their sense of responsibility and shared community. I hope their exemplary action will inspire other companies that are doing well to consider doing the same.”
Mr Heng thanked companies for their commitment, contributions and confidence in Singapore as the country ta…

For those opening up to work, other than SafeEntry, also need to download tracetogether app.

[1:05 pm, 11/05/2020] ☸️  Danny 心:
So for those who need to install tracetogether, pse backup your phone data every day into your folder with version using date.
To help recover your phone data in case you need to do factory reset when your phone kenna virus or ransomware.
Don't backup by overwriting previous backup in case the malware are also backup with your phone data.

Ben
[1:07 pm, 11/05/2020] :
Danny, are you suggesting that anyone with Bluetooth switched on needs to do this?

[1:07 pm, 11/05/2020] ☸️  Danny 心:
Also do virus scan on your phone every day, do security clean up of all cache - to detect any virus.

[1:08 pm, 11/05/2020] ☸️  Danny 心:
No I didn't suggest.
It is one of the requirements for those opening up for work.

Ben
[1:08 pm, 11/05/2020] : To do all the back ups and virus scans every day?
[1:09 pm, 11/05/2020] : The covid virus is biological, not digital.

[1:09 pm, 11/05/2020] ☸️  Danny 心:
Now I am suggesting how people can protect their phone data and recover from it in case anyone kenna.

Ben
[1:10 pm, 11/05/2020] : Yes but having Bluetooth enabled on your phone doesn't require all this action every day.

[1:10 pm, 11/05/2020] ☸️  Danny 心:
I do it to my phone every day.
A daily routine.

Ben
[1:10 pm, 11/05/2020] +65 8481 6751: Of course everyone is free to do as they wish, but its not a requirement

[1:11 pm, 11/05/2020] ☸️  Danny 心:
Unless you don't have new data created every day - then you don't have to backup every day.

Ben
[1:11 pm, 11/05/2020] : I worry you wil put people off installing the Traceatogether app
[1:12 pm, 11/05/2020] : Google and Appe both automatically back up your phone constantly
[1:12 pm, 11/05/2020] : Its a simple one off setting

[1:12 pm, 11/05/2020] ☸️  Danny 心:
Not all data.

Blue and White Flag Guy
[1:12 pm, 11/05/2020] : Sigh

Ben
[1:13 pm, 11/05/2020] : Perhaps invite people to contact you offline if they wish to discuss, or point people to a website
[1:13 pm, 11/05/2020] : We have had so many of these messages from you, and this forum isn't about phone security

Well just a feedback.

In social media, some people are already talking about what compensation they'll get if their phone data is compromised.
And what rights will they have.

In case you think I am paranoid of bringing this issue out - as this requirement is highlighted by REACH in today's message.

[1:52 pm, 11/05/2020] ☸️  Danny 心:
This includes confidential business data.

[2:12 pm, 11/05/2020] ☸️  Danny 心:
This means that not only public, but business may sue if their confidential business data are compromised.

ZeroFOX reported that government-sanctioned COVID-19 mobile applications are affected by vulnerabilities and privacy issues that put citizens at risk.

An analysis of dozens of nation and government-sponsored mobile applications for Android revealed the existence of privacy risks, vulnerabilities and backdoors.

Potential lawsuits can run up to billions of dollars if citizens and businesses sue if their confidential data are compromised.

[4:13 pm, 11/05/2020] : Comments from our government!?

[4:56 pm, 11/05/2020] ☸️  Danny 心:
In interviews with a dozen current and former government officials and cybersecurity experts over the past month, many described a "free-for-all" that has spread even to countries with only rudimentary cyber ability.

"This is a global pandemic, but unfortunately countries are not treating it as a global problem," said Justin Fier, a former national security intelligence analyst who is now the director of cyberintelligence at Darktrace, a cybersecurity firm.

"Everyone is conducting widespread intelligence gathering - on pharmaceutical research, PPE orders, response - to see who is making progress."

The frequency of cyberattacks and the spectrum of targets are "astronomical, off the charts," Fier said.

Rama
