Ways to counter ISIS marketing and propaganda are :-
(1) Promote the right, wholesome and correct values of religion - no killing, no cruelty, no torture, non-violence, inclusive, tolerant, patience, accommodation, peace, harmony ---- this values are signs of holiness.
Counter ISIS values that preaches killings, cruelty, torture, violence, exclusiveness, intolerant, no patience of others, fail to accomodate others, conflict, war, confrontation ---- are negative, evil values that are non-holy, and it is opposed to any form of religions that exude holiness.
(2) Continuous pressure in tightening the noose on ISIS caliphate and eventually defeat and eradicate ISIS and its ideologies - in Iraq, in Syria, in Yemen, in Libya, in Afghanistan or any places where ISIS set foot.
(3) Filter, close down any online, media, non-media, internet, mobile contents of all ISIS ideologies ---- and this is done by encouraging netizens that supported any such contents to report to their relevant authorities - so that enforcement actions can be taken to monitor, track, arrest, close it down, or filter such contents. Only eliciting the help of netizens, service providers, anti-terrorism agencies etc --- can help to effectively contain, cut down and bring down the ISIS contents.
Last but not least, community watch - whether friends, co-workers, fellow religious friends, family members, relatives etc ---- should look out for any suspicious activities, radicalisation, extreme views and report them to anti-terrorism agencies or enforcement units --- so that quick action can be taken to track them "potential ISIS recruits" and nip ISIS influence at its bud.
One easy and simple principle to promote the right way of life are :-
(1) Do good, reap good outcome - Heaven bound.
(2) Do evil, reap bad outcome - Hell bound.
This is the Universal Law of Karma.

Remember Holy books, Holy Teachings --- will not carry any form of violence, killings, torture, any form of evil activities - whether in thoughts, speeches or actions.
Only then the Books, the Teachings - are qualified to be classified as "Holy".
Else the Books, Teachings that carry forms of violence, murder, killings, evil activities --- are not only "Unholy" but in fact "Evil" - Hell bound - in fact "Avici Hell bound" - as they are mass propagation to elicit and enticing ignorant people to commit evil activities ---- a very weighty and serious sin.
