If not now, when? America's endless gun control debate

Why not let the Nation vote in a referendum - to vote for gun-control or no gun-control? This referendum can then be used to nullified Constitution and all laws that prohibit gun-control.

Majority win. This is the only way to overcome the inaction Congress - who do not have the welfare and the interest of the citizens at heart.

Congress is suppose to be lawmakers that make law to protect the lives of their citizens.

Not to make it unsafe where even school children is subjected to killing fields of gun owners.

Live by guns, die by guns - this is the Universal Law of Karma.

Physiological needs, safety needs and security needs - are 3 lowest hierarchy of needs for all citizens. But US citizens are so deprived, even in their own Country, their own home.

    Are they living in a civilized world - or are they living in the animal kingdoms where those who carry guns and shoot first will survive and the rest die ?

    Why blame an inanimate object for the killings? If a person wants to kill, he will use whatever is available ... bats, pipes or knives. Will they ban these next?

      A person carry bats, pipes or knives, people can fight back or can pick up objects to block the attack or run away. The fatality rate will be lower.

      If a person carry an assault rifle firing automatic - people has no chance even to run away.

    haven't you wondered who orchestrated the sale of illegal guns to those who don't deserve to own it? Read several angles on tales on operation fast and furios which is endorsed by the Obama administration to enforce and rally support for more gun controls! Shame. So communist! Obama belongs to China!

    Countries who make gun owning illegal has no murders or mass murder by guns.

    Only US has such a problem.

    Promote peace, safety, security and harmony.

    Not provide mean to kill, to shoot, to harm others and provide ground of killing fields - where innocent citizens become target boards for trigger happy men.

    Where no one feel safe to go to work, to school, to walk on the street.
    Nor let their loved ones, spouse, children - to go to school, to work, to cinemas ...... for no one is sure they will come home alive - shot by people who own guns....

    Knives and other cutting instruments were used with success in mass murders in China and japan, where guns are not easily available.

    China mass murders with knives are carried out by organized terrorists and carried out by a big group of people - not by one person.

    No news on Japan using knives to commit mass murder.

    How can this compare with US incidents where lone ranger carry assault weapons to shoot indiscriminately and fire at anyone on sight?

    Very few Countries in the World allow citizens to own guns.
    US is one of the very rare few.

    Allowing citizens to own guns enmass - is providing the means to citizens the licenses to kill ----- the jungle law.

    A national referendum to vote for gun-control or no gun-control - is putting the fate of their lives, their dependants lives on all US citizens - to determine their own fate - rather than letting a few hundred people determine the fate of 500 million citizens,

    No need hot debate.
    No lobbying.

    Every US citizens vote with their hearts - how they want to live - in fear, with insecurity or live in peace, in harmony.

    The fate should rest with the hands of every US citizens - in a National Referendum of gun-control or no gun-control.

    Armed security guards is the answer to this festering problem of wackos carrying out massacres in schools, offices, and malls. Two advantages: safer environment, and more jobs generated.

      Every retail shops, streets, fast food, schools, shopping malls etc will have to employ security guards.

      Every streets will have to employ security guards.

      Probably millions of security guards will be needed to guard every street, every corner, every schools.

      The strength of security guards will be equivalent to the whole of standing US Army to protect US citizens - just because there is no gun-control.

      Got a better suggestion. Every US citizens employ 1 armed bodyguard. Can create more jobs.

      Then all citizens can live like a Government VIPs where everywhere a citizen go, he/she will be escorted by armed guard(s).
