Singapore reported 70 new COVID-19 cases yesterday (28 Mar). To limit spread of the virus, malls and supermarkets have implemented safe distancing measures. The Government has also advised the public to stay home and avoid going to malls unless it is essential.
How are you adjusting to the stricter safe distancing measures? How do you plan to cope with staying home as much as possible?---

And with symptoms similar to flu and those with mild symptoms and asymptomatic cases, would there be cases that go undetected? Taiwan alr faced a prob of 1 patient not being detected for COVID-19 for 1 month

Contact tracing is the toughest .   UnFortunately , their system still provide infected name and photo to community groups for assistance  .. ours can’t .

"Get organisations like temasek holding to provide cloth masks. Two per person. Wear and wash."
Temasek Holdings offer free sanitizer is a good move.
But with so many unlink cases that signal community spreading, it is time to consider offering washable masks to each individual.
Even people who are well should be encouraged to wear mask.

Joint contribution with my close friend:-
1. We don't want to encourage disposable mask because we are competing for the previous raw material which is to be used for surgical masks.
2. We also don't want to generate wastage by throwing materials away and generate environmental damages.
Washable masks will serve the purpose and can still help to protect our community.
3. Wonder should government mandate all people to wear mask when going outside after issuing washable masks to everyone?

As far as I know since  I met one of them during CNY before this outbreak .. I can tell you it is nothing to do with supplies .   It is the inherent limitation of mask itself  ,  how people use them and lastly it’s effectiveness against coronavirus.

[5:13 pm, 29/03/2020] : A Hong Kong doctor sharing an experiment that he has conducted. He took sample of the fluid from patient nasal passage and discover higher than expected CoVid virus. He then use an air extractor to extract air exhale by the patient. The discovery is zero trace virus. He kept emphasizing that it is the contact with droplet can cause infection. It is possible to catch the virus from an infected person who directly cough into you of in contact of his droplets. It is very low chance  of catching from the breathing of an asymptomatic person. That probably explain why community spread is rather low as I do believe out of the more 800 infected persons over past 2 months, many travel by public transport

(2) When I say no, he say you don't need to wear mask. Mask are given for those who cough, sneeze or sore throat.

(3) I say I want to protect myself, he say masks not enough. Only give to those who need it.

[5:39 pm, 29/03/2020] : The issue is that if majority of the ppl wear mask despite not having any symptoms, they may decrease the risk of infection by, say 5%. However, the supply of masks could run out in few months and our doctors and nurses will run much higher risk of getting infected

I and my close friend also put forth the argument that washable masks can be a good "personal social distancing tool."

Both my close friend and I conclusion is that:-

1. Community spreading is on the rise - 78 unlink cases.

2. Few new clusters have formed.

3. Though we have elevated social distancing measures, MRT and buses are the congregation points.
Also some may not fully comply with the 1 meter social distancing rules and caused infection.

4. The strongest links is at its weakest points.

5. Thus to plug the weakest points - encourage washable masks as PSD - "Personal Social Distancing tool" will be the best last mile protection to protect the community.

6. If Temasek Foundation pick up and support this ideas by distributing 2 washable masks per person like the no alcohol sanitizer - it will help to flatten the infection curve and reduce local transmission.
