📢 TOPIC 📢
Here is a recap of the $4 billion Stabilisation & Support package.
Several industries are facing the crunch, especially the self-employed, tourism, aviation, retail, and food services sectors. The Stabilisation & Support Package will help workers to remain employed and aid companies with cash flow.
What other ways can the Government better support workers and businesses amid the economic slowdown?

If the covid-19 persist for another 3 months up to Jun 2020, additional budget to help business and Singaporean workers stay afloat and boost domestic demand by tapping from :-

(1) Sovereign Fund - excess 50% interest income that are not used in NIRC. (refrain from drawing into our reserves - as they are used to earn interest and investment income).

(2) Keep business afloat and keep Singaporeans stay employed -
a. Additional subsidy on wage credit to subsidise the wage cost of Singaporeans for another 3 months.
b. Provide rental rebates to Singapore companies/

(3) Boost domestic demand by :-
a. Giving $100 to $300 as cash voucher (with validity of 1 year) to each Singaporeans - who can spend this cash voucher to purchase products and services with enterprises in Singapore.

(4) Push forward some Government projects to boost local business activities.

(1) The Italian cruise should be treated like any border control that Singapore ICA will implement for all our border controls.
a. Checking temperatures.
b. Check travelling record.
c. Any suspected cases - should be swap with test kit.
d. Bar any cases from entry if infected or those who refuse tests.
e. All border control are also manned by clinical health workers who can spot suspected cases.
f. leave contact details for contact tracing.
--- believe such heightened health safety measures will be good enough as these measures have been in placed since the covid-19 hit.

[6:53 PM, 3/9/2020] : G  can push forward some government digitalisation and construction  projects planned for next year or later . This is to create more jobs opportunities .
For hospitality and MICE service sectors , we can enagage  more of the younger workers to go training so that to up-skill them to prepare for the upturn .
