Sengkang temple with columbarium must adhere strictly to guidelines, HDB and URA say in joint statement

Many Buddhist temples in addition as a place of worship will also allocate some space for columbarium.

Prayers and offerings are made during Ullambana (盂蘭節) a traditional Buddhist and Taoist festival.

So not sure what is the fuss.

It is just like Halloween that is celebrated openly.

When a hospital is built, it is implied that mortuary will go along with it.

And it is implicit that Buddhist Bodhi Vows - seek to liberate and alleviate the sufferings of all 6 realms sentinent beings - not just for human beings only.

6 realms sentinent beings include lower realm and higher realm sentinent beings that include:-
(1) Hell realm beings
(2) Hungry Ghost beings
(3) Asura beings
(4) Animal beings
(5) Human beings
(6) Heavenly realm beings

- and all will go through the vicious cycle of birth, life, sickness, death and rebirth - a natural Samsara of birth, death and rebirth.

What is there to fear from a columbarium - where the death are more harmless and peaceful - as they don't fight, don't harm, don't kill others.

Just like when there are void decks, it is implicit that it will be leased for weddings, or funeral wakes.

Where there are humans, it is implicit humans one day will passed away - whether a human live in attap house, HDB, bungalows, condo or mansion. This is implicit.

When humans start consuming animals as food - whether fish, cow, pig, lamb, chicken, ducks etc - it is implicit that human stomach is a big graveyard for animals and poultries - unless a human is a vegetarian on birth.

So why fear a columbarium when majority of the human stomach is a great graveyard with so many animal corpses? What an irony?

If people fear columbarium - then there are many professions that humans to be feared that deal with death :-
(1) Doctors that handle death
(2) Nurses that handle death
(3) Policeman that handle death
(4) Ambulance attendant that handle death
(5) Civil defence force that handle death
(6) Caretakers that handle death
(7) Cemetery caretakers that handle death
(8) Elderly homes that handle death
(9) All those who work in hospital that handle death

(10) All humans that live with all other humans that are not immortal - and one day will face death !!!

And one day, when human non-immortal die, the permanent resting place is a columbarium - a temple and stay side by side with the Buddha and Boddhisattva in Pureland - oh what a blessing.

Or those who are of different faith - in their religious building - what a blessing.

How long can human live ? 7, 8 , 9 of a decade. 人生有几个十年？

How long can a deceased live in columbarium with Buddha, Boddhisattva in Pureland, and for other faith, their religious building?

Longer than 7, 8 , 9 of a decade?

Unless a human is an immortal.

Then that human will not one day sleep in a columbarium - and will live on forever and ever - as an immortal or wait a minute, is that human a Vampire???

Didn't know that there will be so many immortal Alien Vampires around in future - that scared of columbarium - and do not want to live close to a columbarium - because they didn't know that their final resting place is a columbarium.

Ah forgot something, humans have 3 inherent unwholesome roots, and the main inherent unwholesome root is :-

(1) Ignorance of Universal Law (痴）

The other 2 inherent unwholesome roots are :-
(2) Greed （贪）
(3) Hatred / Anger (嗔）

Shouldn't there be also strict guidelines on disclosure (covering completeness and accuracy) on adjacent developments when properties are sold to the public?

  Yes, should state the following :-
  (1) there will be void deck - will be used for funeral wakes as well.
  (2) they will received reservoir water - that include 9 corpse found in reservoir that are purified - safe to drink.
  (3) every human in a house are not immortal - that one day will die. Stay at the flat at your own peril and fear for the death.
