+REACH: Topic
How can we as a community
encourage one another to be vaccinated, and to continue observing safe
management measures amidst the persistence of Covid-19?
In response to a patient
testing positive despite receiving both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, MOH said
that the Covid-19 vaccine is effective in preventing symptomatic disease for
the vast majority of those vaccinated, but it is still possible for vaccinated
individuals to get infected. It is also a reminder that we cannot afford to let
our guard down.
Minister Lawrence Wong
announced yesterday that all long-term pass holders and short-term visitors who
have travelled to India within the last 14 days will not be allowed to enter or
transit through Singapore, as the country goes on "heightened alert"
against Covid-19.
Minister added that the
spate of new strains detected in other countries is a worrying development. He
also noted the possibility that after this round of vaccination, we might have
to continue with further rounds of vaccination, because we will have to be
confronting not just the virus today, but potentially new strains of the virus
that maybe more infectious and virulent.

[10:46 am, 23/04/2021]
+Caleb: design better mask that is comfortable in SG hot weather
[10:48 am, 23/04/2021] ☸️ Danny 心:
1. The
vaccinated worker 2nd jab is on 13 Apr. 16 April he got running nose - that
means his anti-bodies has still not develop to become effective. 18 April he
tested infection.
So the
vaccination is not ineffective, the 2nd jab has not exceeded 21 days to develop
the anti-bodies to be effective.
2. Those
other 10 or more reinfected workers are not vaccinated. This means their
anti-bodies from 1st infection have diminished.
3. Medical
experts say that the effectiveness of the vaccines should last for 1 and a half
year.
[10:49 am,
23/04/2021] ☸️ Danny 心:
This means
that even previously infected people need to be vaccinated to be effective - to
prevent re-infection.
[10:51 am,
23/04/2021] ☸️ Danny 心:
1. Current
vaccinations can curb many variants.
2. Previous
infection can be due to 1 variant, and may succumb if another variant come into
play.
3. Look
like voluntary vaccination is not the solution.
4.
Compulsory vaccination maybe the long term final solution.
[11:12 am,
23/04/2021] +Ben: Let everyone who wants to be vaccinated get vaccinated, not
spending time on those who don't. Once all those who want to be vaccinated are,
then do a public campaign on the success of the vaccination, the safety and
importance of protecting yourself, your colleagues and family and friends.
[11:12 am,
23/04/2021] +Ben: People will always point to isolated cases where the vaccine
didn't work and then say it's no point. So - show people how effective it has
been around the world, not just in Singapore.
[11:12 am,
23/04/2021] +Sugeng Shi: Agree on this. Cover all who want first and then worry
about those who don't want.
[11:14 am,
23/04/2021] +Ben: Start promoting additional benefits of being vaccinated, such
as ability to travel without quarantine (assuming negative test as well),
attendance of events.
[11:15 am,
23/04/2021] +Ben: Also, perhaps talk about Singapore opening borders to people
who are vaccinated and have a negative test. Again, promoting the positives of
vaccination
[11:15 am,
23/04/2021] +Ben: Highlight those who may have been reinfected actually got
very mild symptoms and otherwise might have been hospitalised.
[11:24 am,
23/04/2021] +REACH: Singapore may have ‘further rounds’ of COVID-19 vaccination:
Lawrence Wong
Singapore
might have to continue with “further rounds of vaccination even beyond this year”, the co-chair of the
COVID-19 multi-ministry task force Lawrence Wong said on Thursday (Apr 22).

by a Singapore doctor. The process of allowing the passenger to board complied
with the stringent air travel protocols of Singapore's Ministry of
Health."
[0:45 pm, 23/04/2021] +Stella Yip: Hope MOH review the
process/standards/criteria of private doctors for issuing "Fit to
Fly" health certs.
[0:54 pm, 23/04/2021] +Stella Yip: Hope MOH also review
process/standards/criteria of "Fit to Work" for recovered covid
patients. Just in case recovered covid

[1:00 pm, 23/04/2021] +Ben: Indeed. I suppose it can't be 100% accurate

‘Double Mutant’ Covid Variant: Here’s What We Know As Israel Reports Vaccine Efficacy Against Variant First
Detected In India
[1:18 pm,
23/04/2021] ☸️ Danny 心: Even double mutated variants from India - Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is
partially effective as reported by Israel.
[1:22 pm,
23/04/2021] +Valli: I wish the authorities could do a thorough testing of all
the travellers who have arrived here for the past 2months or more, from
overseas, as some could be asymptomatic.
Including
those who have been quarantine & gave clearance.
To prevent
any slip-ups that may have occurred.

[1:30 pm, 23/04/2021] +Caleb: Sounds logical. Based on the current cases,
they caught it during the jab period
[1:30 pm, 23/04/2021] +Caleb: It is worth knowing the reason for people
getting infected even after taking two doses of the corona vaccine.
▪️ The second dose is to be taken 21/28 days after the first dose of the
corona vaccine.
▪️ The vaccine starts to form antibodies immediately after entering the body.
▪️ When antibodies are forming in our body, our immunity decreases a lot.
▪️ When we take the second dose of the vaccine after the 21/28 days, our
immunity decreases even more.
▪️ 14 days after the second dose, when the antibodies are completely formed
in our body, our immunity starts to grow rapidly.
▪️ During this one and a half month, due to low immunity, the chances of the
corona virus entering our body are very high. It is due to an exposure to the
virus at this vulnerable time tha…
[1:43 pm, 23/04/2021] +Caleb: I got a question. I thought all workers in
marina workers have been vaccinated liao
[1:43 pm, 23/04/2021] +Caleb: *Marine sector
[1:44 pm, 23/04/2021] +Caleb: Is it because these have the virus before, so
can't jab yet?
[1:46 pm, 23/04/2021] +Ben: Do you have a source for this information? I've
not read anywhere your immunity goes down after the vaccination
[1:48 pm, 23/04/2021] +Thomas: UK declare out of pandemic because of the
success of the vaccine ??? Is it true ?
[1:48 pm, 23/04/2021] ☸️ Danny 心: Israel 60% vaccination saw a deep dive in
infection until today - even with new variants hitting Israel shore.
It shows
that Israel vaccination is largely successful in curbing new infection.

has been in MOF for long time and has experience in it. OYK came out from MOE
and can't be going back there. CCS is quite an obvious choice since he is front
runner and never interact with the young and those nurturing the young. Since
Desmond Lee is not rotated, I guess he is out of the race. The rest are just to
fill the vacancies after the 3 being rotated.
