Plastic bags for groceries thus should not be charged at a price in the supermarket - in the name of clean earth - because there are needs to place litters and food waste into the plastic bags acting as trash bag - to be disposed off hygenically.

If plastic bags are charged, then many people will just throw the litter and waste foods down the rubbish chute - that will lead to immense hygiene problem - causing cockroach, rats and other insects to breed.

Singapore high-rise buildings for lodging is different from overseas countries.
We cannot follow them blindly.

Forcing residents to buy trash bags to keep food waste and litters for disposal will not go down well for residents :-
(1) Additional financial burden on the residents
(2) Buying trash bags to keep food waste and litters for disposal does not help the environment - as it still need to be burn and they are also like plastic bags for groceries - not biodegradable.

Thus it come back to the square one - why need to charge plastic bags for groceries in the name of protecting environment - where it can be used as dual-use trash bags to keep food waste and litters for disposal?

Thus foriegn pressure to charge prices of plastic bags for groceries in the name of protecting the environment does not make sense - in the context of Singapore.
