If the maritime dispute can be amicably settle, then it will spell good for the South China Sea region.
Hopefully, a Win-Win outcome will emerge and both sides will benefit - and this will entail compromise on both sides.
This is known as Middle Path resolution approach - both meet half way.

Both sides (in fact everyone in this region) recognise that - only peaceful resolution of dispute - through Middle Path resolution approach - both meet half way - is the only way to resolve the maritime dispute amicably without military confrontation and conflict.
