๐ฌ What are your views on the availability of the Sinovac vaccine provided by MOH under the Special Access Route?
Individuals with a history of anaphylaxis and allergic reactions to other drugs, food, insect stings or unknown triggers can now be vaccinated with mRNA vaccines, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said on Friday (June 4).
The expert committee on Covid-19 vaccination had recommended allowing this group of people to take mRNA vaccines after careful study of data both globally and locally.
At the same time, Singaporeans, permanent residents and long-term visit pass holders who are allergic to the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines and want to take the Sinovac vaccine will be able to get it for free at private clinics under the Special Access Route (SAR).
"This is ultimately a private arrangement, though facilitated by the government. MOH will draw up guidelines on proper counselling, informed consent and safe management of patients. However, as the vaccine remains unregistered, it cannot be covered by the vaccine injury financial assistance programme," said MOH.

ANALOGY:
Looking back at the last 20 years of US-CHINA relations. It has been a cordial ones till 2018 onwards, all hell broke loose!
From Bill Cinton to Barack Obama, multi-lateralism was at its peaked blossom across the globe, country to county and especially in the case of US-CHINA! Mutual cooperations in many areas including MEDICAL, TECHNOLOGIES, TRADES and abit of spying on each other too!
It is natural to assume that both big nations have mutual respect and benefit in kinds, in this instance, the research on bateria and viruses! It is not surprising that these scientists at both sides cooperated like brother and sister!
What is this Wuhan lab is perhaps just one of the dozen labs in China that have been operational since 2001 or earlier and so does the US it has over dozens of life sciences labs since 1970s!
In absolute, the US is the frontrunner of sciences, innovations and inventions! In the history of the Cold-War between the USA-USSR after WWII, both countries have began exploring the idea of chemical warfares in silence on top of the continuous nuclear tests initiative! The idea of this OLD hands of labs and tests is the USA, an absolute fact!
Perhaps it was a CARELESS mistake somewhere on earth that this bug leaked, that's the minimal assumption before one jumps the gun to other conspiracy theories like " I leaked it to teach you a lesson, forcing a tiger to leap over a great wall...!"
The above analogy may just be another conspiracy theory too!

1. My view is all population should be vaccinated.
2. mRNA vaccines have been approved as the mainstay effective and safe vaccines for the majority of the population - then all medically eligible people should be immunised by these vaccines.
3. However if people has allergies to mRNA vaccines - then providing non-mRNA vaccines such as Sinovac free - will encourage all the rest to be vaccinated.
4. I hope eventually Mandatory vaccination will be roll out to all population - so that everyone is protected and can safely reach the endemic stage - where everyone can treat covid like mild flu.

2. Our Vaccination of less than 40% has not entitled us to take our foot off the brake.
Else we are going to have an explosive situation.
3. Only when we achieve a high Vaccination rate of 70 - 90% - then we have reach herd immunity.
But those not vaccinated, will be landed in hospital if infected by covid.
4. To safely arrived at endemic stage - where everyone is protected from covid so that it can be treated as mild flu - I suggest Mandatory vaccination - where everyone need to be fully vaccinated - before Singapore can declare ourselves to be in the endemic stage.
5. Singapore must fulfill our slogan of "Unless everyone is safe through Vaccination, No one is Safe" - hence Mandatory Vaccination should be our eventual Public Health Policy against covid-19.

There were 13 new coronavirus cases confirmed as at noon on Friday (June 4), taking Singapore's total to 62,158.
There were seven community cases, two of which are currently unlinked, said the Ministry of Health (MOH).
The remaining five linked cases had already been placed on quarantine, said MOH.

2. Hopefully, a single digit community cases will continue for another week or so.
3. If so happen, then I think we have been successful in curbing the current wave.
4. And I believe slowly relaxing phase 2 HA become possible.
5. If the single digit cannot be consistently maintain throughout the next week or so - then suggest that phase 2 HA may need to be extended - until we fulfill all the conditions that allows phase 2 HA to be relaxed.

7. AstraZeneca and Johnson and Johnson vaccines are better vaccines than Sinovac and sinopharm in terms of efficacy.
But these 2 vaccines can trigger some serious side effects like blood clot and in some rare instances cause death in some countries.
8. Sinovac and sinopharm vaccines on the other hands have lesser efficacy as compared to AstraZeneca and Johnson and Johnson vaccines - but to date no death are reported - and are safer than these 2 vaccines.
9. Thus though Sinovac vaccines has lower efficacy than our 2 mRNA vaccines and other non-nnRNA vaccines - I support the government in rolling out of Sinovac to those people who are allergic to mRNA vaccines because:-
a. Sinovac is still good enough to prevent serious illness from covid and reduce the need for hospitalisation and even death - though it can't prevent spreading.
b. Sinovac is a safer non-mRNA vaccine compared to other of its kind.
