Philippine military says close to defeating Islamist rebels

By Tom Allard
The Maute's ability to fight off the military for so long will add to fears that Islamic State's radical ideology is spreading in the southern Philippines and it could become a haven for militants from Southeast Asia and beyond. Malaysians and Indonesians were among the rebels killed.

This sound the like of "Iraq and Syria caliphate" in South East Asia.

It this ISIS militants are defeated and eradicated, then it will be good news - as they bear the same fate of ISIS caliphate in Iraq and Syria on the verge of being defeated and wipe out.
