Close coordination between the ground and air will provide most effective positive results in battlefield.

Ground troops can provide accurate information on the troop concentration of the IS militants and air support can be call upon to clear resistance, bottlenecks, heavy weaponry when ground troop face resistance.

Thus when ground troop conquer and take ground, any resistance at which location will immediately be known and precision air-strike at this juncture will be most effective as precise location of the IS militants force, heavy weaponry etc that are hidden from the air will be exposed.

Ground troop when facing resistance and call for air support - without precision bombs to do precision strike - will also pose danger to ground troop as the bomb that meant to strike the IS militants in close quarter may also hit friendly force or miss target with troop concentration, weaponry.
