[11:50 am, 23/09/2020] +: 📢 Topic 📢

The COVID-19 situation has affected many jobs and livelihoods. To provide relief and assistance to Singaporeans, the Government has introduced various schemes to provide financial support during this time.

In addition, all applicants must not own more than one property. This is to ensure that applicants take active steps to improve their employment situation.

The new requirements are on top of the existing criteria such as having a gross monthly household income not more than S$10,000, or gross monthly per …

Omar

[12:09 pm, 23/09/2020] +: What about those aged 63 above, jobless, weak  and not able to work., gov not paying attention to this group big people.

Blue and White Flag Guy

[12:11 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Welcome to G2, Omar! :)

Ken

[12:11 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Not sure how much they can really do.

It’s quite tough to tackle the young ones already. Graduate need jobs.

63 is near to the end. Dignifying jobs not much. Want energy don’t have much want teach new stuff learn much slower. For me I don’t even dare think retirement age what can I do 🤦‍♂️

[12:12 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Just save enough to hope that I can take care of my own without adding burden to the kids

Rama

[12:13 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Agree

[12:13 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Yes

[12:14 pm, 23/09/2020] +: All the encouragement to upskill with side financial help will come to nothing if situation prolongs and the job landscape changes drastically.  Only so much government and companies can do.

[12:15 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Long term foresight is still bleak globally

Omar

[12:15 pm, 23/09/2020] +: 63 years old already weak n feable, gov need to assist this group of people.  Give us food vouchers...

Rama

[12:16 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Along with utilities , rental and conservancy rebates.

francis

[12:17 pm, 23/09/2020] +: I guess the very first thing in this pandemic as a family is to come together to have a true position as we are especially expenses as long as a Senior and I have a job to see my day to day living with my family without touching our savings than we should be able to hold on

Omar

[12:17 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Gov encourage training, training, the elderly  not able to carry out.

Rama

[12:17 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Yes

[12:17 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Agree

francis

[12:19 pm, 23/09/2020] +: I think the question for the seniors is does the training results in a job?

Omar

[12:20 pm, 23/09/2020] +: If u notice Gov, too much on of lip service, forgeting  that our contribution as NS men....to the nation.

Rama

[12:20 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Exactly!?

Omar

[12:24 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Gov should create simple  job within their estates, like inspection, monitor the gardens, defects within the estates, check on cleanliness,. Drains n many more for 6 hours work ,5 days work. To help the elderly.

Rama

[12:25 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Must be long term but for seniors only.

Omar

[12:26 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Very true with reasonable pay.

Rama

[12:26 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Yes

Ken

[12:27 pm, 23/09/2020] +: +1

[12:27 pm, 23/09/2020] +: This is a good one provide if they can even secure a job after the training if not just waste resource

Omar

[12:27 pm, 23/09/2020] +: There are too many elderly be in the estates, sitting at void decks,. Garden areas, doing nothing.

Ken

[12:27 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Just leech by training companies which waste of money as well

Rama

[12:28 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Agree with ken and Omar

Ken

[12:28 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Teaching useless skills

Rama

[12:28 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Yes

Rama

[12:28 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Not surprising

Ken

[12:29 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Training company selling just come and gov give you money.. got use no use don’t need just sign up you get paid just ridiculous

Rama

[12:29 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Exactly!

Ken

[12:29 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Companies setup just for the purpose should be audited and fine

Omar

[12:29 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Gov , wayang wayang show that they do something to help the young jobless.  Actually , Singaporeans been fooled by them

Ken

[12:30 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Those are people’s funding not free money

Rama

[12:30 pm, 23/09/2020] +: No doubt!

[12:30 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Yes

Ken

[12:31 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Digital ambassador not bad lar... is a push but also opens up chance for them to be hacked or cheated money as they no longer need to go bank for huge transfer

[12:31 pm, 23/09/2020] ☸️  Danny 心:

Jobs created must have economic value.

Not creating jobs for the sake of employment but funded by taxpayer money.

Omar

[12:32 pm, 23/09/2020] +: There are many jobs can be created in Town Councils, for housewives, elderly, etc.

Rama

[12:32 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Possibly

[12:32 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Agree

Ken

[12:32 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Which bank use to act as a barrier for such huge transfer they can sound out to the police

francis

[12:32 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Worst I happen to heard one sale mention if don't use gov take back 😕

Rama

[12:32 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Short term on adhoc basis

Ken

[12:33 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Now with easier access my worries are there that I have to lock my Mum out so she have limited access from ebanking rare then having so much money in a ebanking account

Stella

[12:33 pm, 23/09/2020] +: There should be solid link up between employers and these training companies which uses government grants. The citizens using these funds should not be sold hope but an actual opportunity to work and the salary value to be at least the course fees, if not X times.

Rama

[12:33 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Sad!

[12:33 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Agree

Omar

[12:39 pm, 23/09/2020] +: MOM also failed to  look into the elderly jobs, availability engagement within the estates.

Rama

[12:40 pm, 23/09/2020] +: https://goodyfeed.com/groups-five-seated-rule/amp/?utm_source=telegram&utm_medium=push&utm_campaign=active

[12:40 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Yes

Stella

[12:42 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Economic value + social responsibility

Rama

[12:42 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Agree

Omar

[12:43 pm, 23/09/2020] +: As a elderly Singaporeans, we are great losers and nothing  else. Gov  don t see the ground in realities etc, what are our needs ..

[12:43 pm, 23/09/2020] ☸️  Danny 心:

Call this number if you need job assistance.

68835885 - WSG employment.

Rama

[12:43 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Couldn't agree more!

Berny

[12:43 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Hi everyone

[12:44 pm, 23/09/2020] ☸️  Danny 心:

Also register yourself with WSG for employment if you need a job.

Berny

[12:44 pm, 23/09/2020] +: I finally finished reading through the whole chat 🤭 Seems like a pretty active discussion going on

Rama

[12:45 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Give us your input

[12:45 pm, 23/09/2020] ☸️  Danny 心:

Complaining, blaming and whining won't get you a job.

Productive action will get you a job.

Rama

[12:45 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Agree

Berny

[12:45 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Please correct me if I'm wrong ya, i may have misinterpret some inputs:

1. Concern for jobs for seniors

2. Lack of NSmen benefits

3. Upskilling doesnt equal confirmed job

[12:46 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Am I right? That's what I generally understand from the earlier chats

Rama

[12:46 pm, 23/09/2020] +: No issue for me

[12:46 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Yes

Berny

[12:46 pm, 23/09/2020] +: ok, please allow me to give my input for that 3 ya, and please be gentle on me 🤭

Omar

[12:47 pm, 23/09/2020] +: The elderly needs what Berny has said.

Rama

[12:47 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Carry on

[12:47 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Agree

[12:47 pm, 23/09/2020] ☸️  Danny 心:

Train and placement will get you a job.

Upskill by attending training course with no job commitment will not get you a job.

[12:49 pm, 23/09/2020] ☸️  Danny 心:

I was eating in a food mall, many seniors got job by clearing utensils.

How come seniors got no job?

Omar

[12:50 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Waist of time talking, REACH is not supporting us.

Blue and White Flag Guy

[12:53 pm, 23/09/2020] +: @REACH Singapore First time the new guys join us straight away participate in conversation wor!

再次祝你生意兴隆 😂

Phyllis

[12:53 pm, 23/09/2020] +: 😂😂😂

[12:53 pm, 23/09/2020] ☸️  Danny 心:

Job won't fall on your lap if you don't go and do the correct thing to pick up the phone and make the right call.

[12:54 pm, 23/09/2020] ☸️  Danny 心:

Correct attitude and aptitude people will help.

[12:55 pm, 23/09/2020] ☸️  Danny 心:

Education must also not only teach knowledge but also EQ.

Berny

[12:55 pm, 23/09/2020] +: 1. Concern for jobs for seniors:

- "Seniors" is a pretty broad term, I'd assume we are referring to those 65 and above, nearer to retire age. It might be me, but generally from the coffeeshop chat, it seems that most seniors are not really keen on upgrading themselves, they created a "barrier" and is reluctant to do so.

- Few of the concern/reasons which I usually hear is:

-> Upskill = equate to confirmed job (which is true, I agree)

-> So old already, who want to hire me? (Perhaps it is true, to a certain extent)

-> Aiya, those IT stuff, old people like me don't know one la (which is why there is a need to upskill!)

-> Lastly, where got time?! (Pretty common, but rather than hanging around coffeeshop and have coffeeshop chat/complain, why not start somewhere?)

2. Lack of NSmen benefits:

- I'm not sure what benefits are you guys referring to, but generally I'm pretty happy to have "mandatory paid leave" when there are any reservist call back

- For fresh NSmen (NSF who just ORD), most might already know, we get higher tier starting salary compared to our female peers

3. Upskill doesnt equate job:

- True to a certain extent, but given the opportunity, put yourself in the HR shoe: Would you rather hire someone with the relevant skills, or hire someone without the skills, if both candidates have the same profile and requested salary?

- Also, I think the skillsfuture credit is pretty useful, it helps to offset up to $1,000 of the course fee ($500 previously and $500 after 1 october) which allows you to get more skills and be a "jack of all trades"

- Lastly, I think this is quite true to a certain extent, times like these, just hang on or grab whatever job opportunity that comes in your way, this isnt the time to be fussy or picky, most people I've talk to are fussy about job nature, or picky about the benefits (They rather eat grass than have a job that match their expected pay). It takes both hands (3 in this case) to clap, The government and company can open the door for you, but if one is not willing to step in, no amount of monetary assistance can help.

[12:57 pm, 23/09/2020] ☸️  Danny 心:

If I am the boss, I will hire the person with good attitude and good aptitude.

Those with poor attitude I won't employ.

Berny

[12:57 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Also, just to add on, recently we got 2 new cleaner supervisor, 1 is pretty experienced, but he is complacent, cutting corners here and there thinking that we won't notice. The other, everyone saw how hardworking he is, working till 7pm on a Sunday on a voluntary basis (Their company wasn't aware of it until we highlighted it to them). Both staff are in their 60s near to 70s.

Blue and White Flag Guy

[12:57 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Looks like Zen beng met another new Waterloo!

Berny, you'll get what I mean as you stay here longer 🤭

Berny

[12:58 pm, 23/09/2020] +: I sure hope it's a pleasant journey 🤭

[12:58 pm, 23/09/2020] ☸️  Danny 心:

Good to have more people with good knowledge and wisdom.

Blue and White Flag Guy

[12:58 pm, 23/09/2020] +: You'll hope it is 😂

Berny

[12:59 pm, 23/09/2020] +: I guess it can't be worse than people yelling "I complain to PM!" right in your face on a monthly basis 😅 but please, be gentle on me

[1:01 pm, 23/09/2020] +: For the NSmen thing, perhaps I could be of some help to understand what the problem actually is, if whoever first asked that question is around..?

Blue and White Flag Guy

[1:03 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Actually, my personal opinion is that the government is doing great with the fire fighting, it is just that the policy doesnt reach the ground properly and got distorted along the way

[1:03 pm, 23/09/2020] ☸️  Danny 心:

People who are resourceful, diligent, good attitude, knowledge, competent are most sought after by employers.

Berny

[1:03 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Too many angry voices distorted the meaning of the policy

Blue and White Flag Guy

[1:06 pm, 23/09/2020] +: I have a quote,

"Don't just complain, act on your complaint instead"

Which stems from my involvement in shaping and improving public transport because you know, people like to go to FB and spam "(vulgar) MRT breakdown (more vulgar)" if you get what I mean without actually supplying useful information for the operator 😂

Berny

[1:07 pm, 23/09/2020] +: not to mention, verbal abuse against the poor station staff when it is not even their fault, or within their control

Blue and White Flag Guy

[1:08 pm, 23/09/2020] +: They'll have to bear with it because they kinda represent the company anyway 🤷‍♂️

Berny

[1:09 pm, 23/09/2020] +: True to a certain extent, but we have to ask ourselves, does cursing and swearing at them solve anything? Will it speed up the troubleshooting/rectification process?

Blue and White Flag Guy

[1:10 pm, 23/09/2020] +: No no, tell them to ask themselves that

I'm already out of that league lol

Berny

[1:10 pm, 23/09/2020] +: 🤭

Rama

[1:11 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Great

[1:31 pm, 23/09/2020] ☸️  Danny 心:

Because boss employ staff to help him to solve problems and bring in business for him.

Not employ someone who create more problems for him, cause unhappiness among staff or worst offend customers.

Thus boss will only employ staff with good attitude and good aptitude.

Our education system focus alot on providing knowledge but quite lack in imparting good values and attitude to students.

Rama

[1:36 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Agree especially on your Last point

REACH

[1:43 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Planning to head to Kusu Island during the pilgrimage season?

Take note of these Covid-19 safety restrictions: https://str.sg/JBk3

REACH

[2:20 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Dear contributors, please continue to provide your views on our topic today. Thanks! 😃

Jimmy Chew

[2:26 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Depends on locality. If west side it's E2i. WSG for east side. That what I was told. This might be old news. Just verify this because if you stay west and travel to paya lebar for training is a long journey. Better go to Devan Nair nearer

[2:28 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Sometimes you want training all training places taken up. September I am available but available courses are in October

Berny

[2:29 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Sorry, but I just saw 2 sentences that are quite disturbing to me.

1. "In addition, all applicants must not own more than one property. "

Some people might be asset rich and cash poor, at times like this, it may not be easy to liquidate their assets, it would be nicer if they own more than one property but none of them are being rented out. I could own 2 condominiums, but both units are not being rented out and I have to pay for the Management fee for both sides, compared to someone who owns 1 unit but it is fully/partially rented out and the owner could be staying with the parents. Base on the example above, I am in a more dire situation (totally 0 income) compared to the owner of 1 unit but is rented (got rental income).

2. "Under the revised eligibility criteria, individuals must submit documents to show that they have made at least one job application or attended at least one interview in the two months before the application for the grant. "

It would be nice if the interviewer of SGUnited could chip in, or put a remark indicating if the applicant is rejected (for whatever reason), or if the applicant rejects the job offer. One can easily cheat the system by going for 1 job interview and rejecting the job offer for the easy $800.

Stella

[2:31 pm, 23/09/2020] +: https://www.todayonline.com/singapore/more-households-need-food-aid-including-younger-couples-and-private-property-dwellers

[2:35 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Our ministers already highlighted to us that more people will lose jobs, more biz will not survive, thus much support plans are rolled up to minimize the impact and guide the economy back to recovery path.  However, the holes of the net are big, not everyone will manage well.  And some may take risks beyond their means due to desperation.  Nonetheless suicide should not be deemed as a solution.

[2:36 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Point 1 is a hole in the net that some Singaporeans fall into

[2:36 pm, 23/09/2020] ☸️  Danny 心:

I think whether it is WSG, e2i or NTUC as long as a person needs a job just register with them.

They will assign a career coach to that person to determine whether he need training, if no, he will help him to find jobs.

Omar

[2:36 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Reach Sg, what is your function upon the feedback, u received???

Ken

[2:37 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Lol they will just observed and report only no details on how they feedback to MCI ask before Liao

Blue and White Flag Guy

[2:38 pm, 23/09/2020] +: They'll disseminate the questions and information from and to the respective government agencies based on the topic and scope

[2:39 pm, 23/09/2020] ☸️  Danny 心:

REACH is a discussion forum on policies and feedback to the respective govt Ministries.

REACH don't find job for a specific person.

[3:08 pm, 23/09/2020] +: We should look out for people in trouble around our neighbourhood, and help if we can. Otherwise direct them to seek help from gahmen

Blue and White Flag Guy

[3:15 pm, 23/09/2020] +: You're new here, why do you jump so quickly to conclusions?

Ken

[3:15 pm, 23/09/2020] +: 🤣

Omar

[3:17 pm, 23/09/2020] +: What were the last feedbacks  action,  taken by Gov,. Any update??

Ken

[3:17 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Not that we are aware lol

[3:18 pm, 23/09/2020] +: That will report what they see here. And if we go out of topic they will also ring the bell to remind us to stick to topic

Blue and White Flag Guy

[3:18 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Yes, I pioneered the discussion on active mobility when that was the topic for the day here in G2 - after the discussion, my suggestions were put forth to the Active Mobility Advisory Panel

Another thing is from time to time, what we discuss here will eventually be translated into actions by the government - it just takes time, you can't expect the government to respond to every need immediately

[3:19 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Actually it's been long since that happened hahaha I think the bells are for when somebody misbehaves because nowadays Megan just tolong us to talk about the topic but we speechless 😆

Rama

[3:20 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Yup

REACH

[3:24 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Singapore reports 12 new Covid-19 cases, including 1 in the community and 4 imported.

https://str.sg/JBkQ

Berny

[3:24 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Policy dont change or happen overnight, other than the PMD ban which I welcome it even though I ride PMD previously 🤭

Blue and White Flag Guy

[3:25 pm, 23/09/2020] +: PMD ban was too abrupt

Berny

[3:25 pm, 23/09/2020] +: it sure is, but given the situation back then, it was a swift and decisive move to do so

Blue and White Flag Guy

[3:26 pm, 23/09/2020] + Gahmen advocates for carpet bomb strategy, I advocate for public education

Rama

[3:26 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Yes

[3:26 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Agree

CQ

[3:27 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Yup, and policies don't change just because 1 person says it. There has to be enough concern on the ground to do so, and this is usually gathered across the various channels. From what I understand, there are various chat rooms. If the same concern is voiced across the various channels, it's probably something to look at seriously.

Berny

[3:27 pm, 23/09/2020] +: It takes 2 hands to clap, on 1 hand, the government can try to educate (eg. PMD safety, the more recent social distancing with all sorts of illustration and studies), on the other hand, residents of Singapore need to accept and practise it (Look at all the newly emerged PMD during CB period, look at the number of breaches for SMM and stuff for covid)

Blue and White Flag Guy

[3:27 pm, 23/09/2020] +: It's different when the majority can only complain while one individual (shameless plug lah I mean myself hahaha) is actually working with whoever's involved to solve the problem

Berny

[3:28 pm, 23/09/2020] +: It was a hot topic before I left my job in PA back then 🤭 every meeting we hear something about PMD

Blue and White Flag Guy

[3:29 pm, 23/09/2020] +: I remember that PMD topic was the hottest one throughout my stay here in G2 and because of my expertise in that sector, I kinda led the entire discussion, it was a memorable day - no fights, all-hands and all-brains on deck working together!

Phyllis

[3:29 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Yea yea yea!

Blue and White Flag Guy

[3:30 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Hahaha Phyllis straight outta nowhere!

CQ

[3:31 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Yah. I think the pmd was a bit of a kneejerk reaction, but accidents were happening, reports were being filed about reckless use. If they didn't put in the ban quickly, it would've come across as the govt sitting on their thumbs, then people also not happy. But could've been done better lah, especially since it was only a few weeks back that they announced specific specs for "compliant PMDs". So those who were law-abiding kena screwed over twice.

Phyllis

[3:31 pm, 23/09/2020] +: lol don't get me started on PMD!

Berny

[3:32 pm, 23/09/2020] +: I bought my PMD for $1.1k just 1month+ before the ban hammer came down 😬

Blue and White Flag Guy

[3:32 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Later Megan sad we derail from the job topic but hey to those new and very new peeps, if you have your transport concerns, just drop me a PM! Don't ask me about cars though 😆

Phyllis

[3:32 pm, 23/09/2020] +: The ban was too sudden.

REACH

[5:33 pm, 26/05/2020] : Supply chains shifts due to Covid-19 will impact economy but also present opportunities, says Chan Chun Sing

(1) This virus pandemic has cause many business to grind to a halt.

(2) But at the same time, the virus pandemic has force many businesses who did not transform fast enough to do a cold turkey transformation to exploit digital ecommerce in order to survive.

(3) This has fulfil ITM (Industry Transformation Map) objective of transforming many traditional industries and business to embrace digital technologies to grow their international reach - whether for big enterprises, medium enterprises and even small enterprises - in a double quick time.

(4) By doing so, our businesses can help the Economy to grow phenomenally as our domesitc market is make up of only 5.6 million consumers and $560 billion domestic market.

(5) By embracing digitial technology to transform their business into eCommerce with international reach - we are tapping into the vast international market of $90 trillion and 6 billion people international market - a much larger market and business opportunities for our Enterprises.

(6) The current fortitude budget has further catalyse business especially SMEs to digitise their payment system like "Paynow SQ QR code", making purchase orders through online eDelivery platofrm etc. - where not only neighborhood customers can order their foods - but also people living in other parts of the Country.

(7) SMEs such as retail can also tap on digital platform, and utilise our global logisitical hub and regional supply chain to sell their products even to overseas customers.

(8) All these will help our local business to grow - not only catering to the local domestic market but also to international market.

(9) The combined "brick and mortar" business plus the newly transformed digital eCommerce platform - will help our local business to expand their business and customer base - that include not only their traditional customers, it also include customers outside the neighborhood and even overseas customers.

(10) If many businesses in Singapore are successful in transforming their business to harness Digital eCommerce, then on aggregate - our Economy will have expanded many fold.

(11) When the virus pandemic is finally over, our business can jumpstart and become a springboard to make our Economy flourish and gorow phenomenally - when the world lockdown is removed.

(12) If we succeed in transfoming our aggrgated business and Economy during this virus pandemic, then in short time, Government can accumulate good surplus and repay the money back (a whopping $52 billion) to the reserves that we have borrowed to tie over this virus pandemic.

(13) If our reserves are continuously depleted, Singapore without natural resources --- will be in deep trouble --- as if the next crisis strike --- we have nothing left to cushion and help our business and people back to the pink of health.

REACH - Long term plan to prevent future virus pandemic

2 Aug 2020

REACH

Chapter 1

Scientists has proven that virus jump host from animals to human - eg. Swine flu, bird flu, covid, SARS, H1N1 etc - due to people slaughtering of animals for food.

That why is urging government to spend more efforts and resources to R&D on alternative food source such as :-

1. Vegetarian food

2. Vegan base meat

3. 3D-printed vegan base meat

4. Cell culture and tissue re-engineering meat

5. Beyond meat

All the above suggestions will not slaughter animals for meat.

Number 4 involve extracting some cells, blood and tissues from live animals - but will not kills the animals.

It is just like humans donating blood or plasma or tissue - that will earn good deeds and merits for the animals.

Chapter 2

If the R&D for the above alternative food source are successful, then it will also resolve the global climate change - because rearing animal for food for 1 hectares plot of land will require to plant 10 hectares plot of land to grow grain to feed the animals.

The above alternative food source will only require to plant 1 hectare plot of land to feed the same number of human - and resolve the global climate change.

Also, it will open up a new economic sector for Singapore - high tech agro industry and create new jobs for Singaporean.

Chapter 3

The above proposal will have achieve 4 objectives :-

1. Stop slaughtering of animals for food and reduce animals sufferings.

2. Reduce the risk of pandemic base animals host to human virus infections.

3. Protect global climate by reducing the land required to clear forest to rear animals and crops.

4. Start a new high tech agro industry for Singapore and create high value added jobs to Singaporean and create export led industry on gourmet meat.

Chapter 4

1. The above proposed agro industry will have created :-

a. High tech lab for food R&D.

b. Create manufacturing plants to mass produce vegan-based meat

c. Food packaging, logistics, food supply chain, marketing

d. Domestic food market

d. Export food industry for overseas market

e. Create many jobs in food R&D, high tech food manufacturing plant, logistic food supply chain, marketing jobs for domestic and overseas market

Another example of how Reach discussion transform government policies.

Berny

[3:38 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Instead of the fines for Covid-19 breach, why not just remove the healthcare subsidy for covid-19 if some offender gets caught?

Blue and White Flag Guy

[3:38 pm, 23/09/2020] +: I don't have insomnia to begin with! 🤣

Berny

[3:38 pm, 23/09/2020] +: sure, fine is painful for some, but to the better off people, it is just like a slap to the wrist

Blue and White Flag Guy

[3:38 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Discussed before! Believe it or not!? 😉

CQ

[3:38 pm, 23/09/2020] +: 🤣

Berny

[3:38 pm, 23/09/2020] +: wa, serious?

CQ

[3:39 pm, 23/09/2020] +: yes yes! i remember that!!

Blue and White Flag Guy

[3:39 pm, 23/09/2020] +: We made it abundantly clear, make sure those bodohs pay their medical bills IN FULL

Berny

[3:39 pm, 23/09/2020] +: that's the right way to go though, time to take the bitter pill since some culprits refuse to cooperate and put everyone at risk

Omar

[3:39 pm, 23/09/2020] +: ReachSg, u failed everybody, u used this platform for gov instruments as a wayang show  with No action. We are all the fools. As there is no results to it.

Berny

[3:40 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Woah! What's with the hate?

Blue and White Flag Guy

[3:40 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Some money that gahmen "share" with us goes back to them because of some of these fools hahaha not that effective but the money still goes back 😆

CQ

[3:41 pm, 23/09/2020] +: the fine is there to smack those people who endanger others, whether or not they kena the consequence (i.e. kena Covid) themselves. the disqualification of the subsidy is a 2nd whack for them if they do kena, so "see lah, covidiot some more lah". 🤭

Berny

[3:41 pm, 23/09/2020] +: spreading hate doesnt change anything ma, instead taking it easy may cheer up somebody's week/day

CQ

Berny

[3:42 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Fine isn't painful enough, look at the recent cases, people don't feel the pinch at all

Blue an White Flag Guy

Blue an White Flag Guy

[3:43 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Some rich enough to bear the burden, so we must know who should get and who shouldn't get

REACH

Dah marah is "angry oredi"!

Berny

[3:43 pm, 23/09/2020] +: ooh ok

[3:44 pm, 23/09/2020] +: I got another topic, not that important or urgent right now, but I hope something can be done

Rama

[3:44 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Yes

Blue an White Flag Guy

[3:44 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Feel free!

Berny

[3:45 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Recently I think one of the MP is pressing for change in the smoking law, to disallow smoking within own HDB unit.

Rama

[3:45 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Wow!

Ben

[3:45 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Reach have been good at passing on our input. They can't be expected to reply to every point, nor can the gov implement every suggestion. I do recall one topic discussed here reached consensus and was then in the news a day or two later as a new policy.

Berny

[3:45 pm, 23/09/2020] +: can that be extended to private property as well? Imagine staying in a condo and your neighbour below smokes like a chimney at their service yard or window

Rama

[3:46 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Include spf!

Blue an White Flag Guy

[3:46 pm, 23/09/2020] +: This was discussed quite sometime ago and attracted quite a lot of flak because then where is the liberty for one to smoke in his/her own home? This issue has a lot of grey areas which are difficult to solve

Ben

[3:46 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Maybe give it some time, and find constructive ways to give feedback if you can. There are people on the other side, working to support this process. Have some consideration in your messages, please.

Rama

[3:46 pm, 23/09/2020] +: I support this!

Berny

[3:46 pm, 23/09/2020] +: I guess we should be looking at the same principle as smoking in your own car, you can smoke, but with windows up, smoke with window down get a $300 fine

CQ

[3:47 pm, 23/09/2020] +: so all the more i don't think that removing the fine would change anything. even if you withdraw the subsidy, it is not going to change the behaviour because "haiyah, i won't be so suay one lah. even if i kena also asymptomatic what". so it won't change the behaviour. what should change the behaviour though, is if the offence cannot be compounded with just a fine, i.e. it has to go through the court process, even if you get let off with a fine, it stays with you as a record of "having been charged in a court of law". otherwise, like you said, people don't feel the pinch.

Omar

[3:53 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Our home Utilities bills going up such a small unit monthly  170 dollars, this is too rediculous, clear cut gov manipultions , robbing from the citizens.. bad.

Berny

[3:53 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Friend, before you continue to attack the government for whatever reason or motive, it is best to present credible supporting documents

Blue and White Flag Guy

[3:54 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Omar, do you even know of the Open Energy Market? Did you check if alternative providers or SP Group works for you and your household better?

Rama

[3:54 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Some just cannot think!

Phyllis

[3:54 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Hiyoh Zen Beng so Long again!

Berny

[3:54 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Also, my opinion is that instead of shaming or blaming, why not give alternative suggestions?

Rama

[3:55 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Agree

Blue and White Flag Guy

[3:55 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Hahahaha now I more worried about one of our new guys ah - come here attacc only!

Berny

[3:55 pm, 23/09/2020] +: I work in mcst

Phyllis

[3:55 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Hiyoh Omar relax la! Why come here complain.

Berny

[3:55 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Thats the area which we cant tackle

Omar

[4:02 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Reach Sg, what is your function upon the feedback, u received???

[4:02 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Also, my opinion is that instead of shaming or blaming, why not give alternative suggestions?

Berny

[4:03 pm, 23/09/2020] +: friend, that's my message to you, not to reach.sg

Blue and White Flag Guy

[4:03 pm, 23/09/2020] +: A message from all of us sia, honestly our answer to his question is actually way more than what any of the Megans would type as an answer to that question

Omar

[4:04 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Smoking people are very smelly.....

Ben

[4:04 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Yes Omar, we agree on something! 🙏

Omar

[4:05 pm, 23/09/2020] +: Too many getting lung cancer died within my circle.

Blue and White Flag Guy

[4:07 pm, 23/09/2020] +: +: "Finally, some of you ask what we do with all the feedback. No, its not a black hole. On the contrary, we take your views seriously, and these are collated and sent to Ministries/agencies for consideration!"

This was sent by one of the Megans in February, if that answers your question from an official REACH point of view, @Omar?
