Reiterating points made by Mr Zaqy in Parliament, Mr Chee said total employment across the 23 ITM sectors grew by 19,500, excluding foreign domestic workers.

This comprised an increase in employment of Singapore citizens by 39,300, an increase in employment of PRs by 8,600 and a decrease in employment of foreigners by 28,500.

"Mr Zaqy had also explained that it would be more meaningful to look at employment changes over a longer period, since the majority of the ITMs were launched only in 2018," said Mr Chee.

    (1) So based on the above facts, Singaporeans employment has grow in 2018 and 2019, while foreigners employment has fallen.

    (2) SDP want to challenge MOM in High Court - is bound to lose --- as SDP allegation is not based on facts.

Those issues should be debated in the Parliament. With so many foreign workers, where does the jobs come from? Those jobs were not newly created over the past few years. Economy growth is not high and where do we have so many jobs created? They should provide all the data on how many foreign workers replaced local workers. it wasn’t replaced by local workers as we got 2-3 million foreign workers in the country. The figures should be much higher.

My colleagues and many Singaporeans are still in the state of shock the way that CCS replied to Pritam. It is so easy said . We Singaporeans also can say it is resounding YES that many Singaporeans perceived they are being disadvantaged because not data is provided. May be the PR employment increase more the locals. There is really no integrity at all so obvious he is hiding the truth!

The sad truth is I don't trust over justice system, be it high court or Supreme court. Dr. Chee would be best take this matter to Human Rights Court!.

Doesn't MoM need to provide grounds for stating that SDP had not provided sufficient grounds for the cancellation of the CDs?
Does MoM have any grounds? Does MoM need any grounds for its actions?
Sounds like the case of Yue Fei of the Sung Dynasty! (Not that SDO resembles Yue Fei, of course!)

Why the govt refuses to make public the data or details? are there something seriously aught to be hidden from citizens? Withholding facts and figures will create more doubts and queries.

"Hiring Singaporeans first" is now quite confusing as many Singaporeans are not originally Singaporeans but converted Singaporeans through citizenship applications.

Bravo, Mr Chee! But with an ex-pap lawyer as the law minister, I strongly doubt if the court would be impartial. Anyway, may the Heavens give you a hand to fight against dictatorship.
