If you and your countrymen think that 4 Great Basic Elements 四大 are non living things and you and your countrymen can abuse them with no karma - then you are wrong - as 4 Great Basic Elements 四大 are made up of protons, atoms, nucleus etc that are vibrating and motion is constant - and it will respond and react to what you and your countrymen think, say or do.

Humans and 10 realms sentinent beings form the 五蕴 5 Mental Aggregates - and will elicit and attract Universal Law of Karma.

Matter, Temperatures, Liquid, Air movement - form the 4 Great Basic Elements 四大 - though as non-living things but will still respond and will elicit and attract Universal Law of Karma just like what 五蕴 5 Mental Aggregates do.
