Since 2011 shock election outcome that cause PAP to win by 60% popular votes, a lot of policies have been formulated to address the grievances of voters.

Many policies have been effective to address the grievances which as a result account for the big swing of votes to PAP - this time accounting for 69% vote - a near 10% swing in votes.

However, job security issue for Singaporeans has still not been adequately address - as seen in East Coast smallest win and Machperson 2nd smallest win (both are related to manpower portfolio) as well as Aljunied retention of seats by WP.

If PAP continue to work on job security for Singaporean PMETs and Workers - and adequately address the job insecurity face by Singaporeans, the next GE will still see a strong showing by PAP.

In other words, as long as PAP perform well in :-
(1) National Issues - formulating right policies that take care and address Singaporeans needs.
(2) Town council estate management

Opposition will not be able to make an inroad in GEs.

PAP should now look at 2 hot button issues that have been consistently raised during this GE and that resonate with the voters :-
(1) Singaporean PMETs and Workers - job insecurity
(2) Cost of living

If these 2 issues are effectively tackle, the next GE should see strong showing again for PAP.

Agree with Ricky, overall PAP did very well in the last 4 years. However I didn't see any improvement in PAP tackling the issue jobs of locals taken away by foreigners. I still see my company continue to favor foreigners for PMET jobs over locals.

when people saw the huge crowds and huge praises for the opposition, they got sacred and voted for pap in case pap got voted out of govt. people were afraid of changes and drastic ones.people were most impressed by chee, paul, etcx etc but they were more afraid of change or upsetting the applecart. so everyone left the other to vote for the opposn and they themselvs voted for the pap.

Basically, Opposition has no alternative nor good alternatives policies to match PAP policies.

Making noise in Parliament without good suggestions are not good enough.

Because Parliament seats are scarce and precious to generate good ideas that benefit the Nation.
