The current main concern is - Singaporean PMETs and Workers feel job insecurity and fear of losing jobs or in fact have lost jobs many times.

As long as PAP is able to resolutely address this issue, communicate how can this be done with a short, medium and long term strategy, then PAP will be able to do well and better compare to previous election.

Better still if a scheme is formed to track Singaporean PMETs and Workers who lost their jobs and actively assist them to find a permanent one – will give Singaporean “a peace of mind” and this will no longer be an election issue.

For WP who is running the Aljunied town council – it is a big foul up – as it demonstrate opposition is not able to run a big town council accumulating big deficit.

It WP continue to win more, then bankrupting the whole Singapore finance will become a possibility – turning Singapore into the Greece of Europe – a bankrupt nation.

Hearing the solutions prescribed by the various Opposition Parties including WP – does not give the assurance that the Oppositions know how to solve this problem --- but merely pressing PAP for a solution.

Now the outcome is, will Opposition win more seats or lose some seats or will PAP win back more seats ---- will all entirely depends on how PAP address the issue of how to ensure job security for Singaporean PMETs and Workers ---- the biggest concern of Singaporeans in this General Election.

Actually, Singaporeans will prefer a Government that run the Country well and addressing all their concerns.

Voting in more oppositions to bankrupt their town council - is not what the voters want.

But if voters felt that their main concern such as job insecurity is not adequately addressed - voters will pressure the Government via another means.

Despite WP fouling up the town council fund, still big group of people turn up to attend their rallies.

So to voters, job security become more important to them --- despite knowing that if oppositions continue to win more seats - will bring more deficit to the town councils. Also knowing that oppositions are not performing well in Parliament or are able come up with workable alternatives policies for Singapore.

Thus PAP must in this coming days convince voters that they have a good workable policies in place to address Singaporean PMETs and Workers job security and this will help to turn votes for the PAP.

Fully agree on most of your points. I am one of many PMETs who lost my job and for the last 6 months till now, unable to get work. No point extending working age till 67 when at 55 yo I cannot get a job. No meaning at all. If PAP wants my vote, make sure I can get work and money to feed my family, enough for retirement and can work till 67 yo. Otherwise, all promises from PAP is just a dream.

1. PAP town councils screwed up even big time with Town councils funds, they lost more than S$12m in Lehman brothers bond (mind you, unrecoverable & permanent lost) during last financial crisis. Does this also demonstrate that PAP cannot run big town councils?

2. Temasek and GIC lost nearly S$100B also in the last financial crisis. With Teamsek, GIC and CPF remain running in black box operation without opening their books to public, what make you so that we are not second Greece now ?

Singapore is running a $400 billion over Economy.
Both Temasek and GIC reported profits in their funds.

PAP town councils has no adverse accounting reports.

Aljunied until now is still a qualified report by their own auditors.

PAP's records in financial management and running the Economy - is undisputable.
WP in town council management and in Parliament is lack-lustre.

The only good point about WP is a good talker in rally, and in Parliament - is being whitewashed with lack of credible policies that can benefit Singaporeans.

Everyone knows it. Even WP say they can't form the Government.

From a Singaporean point of view I salute all the residence of the Opposition wards By standing united firm and proud with their Elected Member of Parliament in their wards. Sad this is what missing in most the PAP wards . The RC n CCC are only looking out for their own.

You are wrong, see quite a no. of residents quite angry with WP - for the way they manage the town council finance and how they respond to it.

      Some throw their flyers away.
      Saw one sit on it.
Another stamp his feet on the flyer.

Conversely, when PAP visit Aljunied GRC, they are quite well received by the residents.

If oppositions continue to win more seats in the Parliament - it will be detrimental to Singapore - as it will cause a Law of Diminishing Returns to Governance - and will cripple the ability of the Government to come up with better policies to address Singaporeans' problems.

More time will be spend blickerings and polticiking in Parliament rather than finding the right and most appropriate solutions to problems.

For examples, did WP come up with alternatives policies for the benefits of the Country eg.
      (1) Cheap hawker centres subsidise by Government to keep food price low
      (2) More buses to run parallel with MRT to alleviate the crowd and breakdown while providing more employment as bus captain
      (3) Job portal to centralise companies and job-seekers search
      (4) Underground MRT to transport good cargoes – so as to free up road spaces, more safety as less good vehicles on the main road
      (5) Mutually inclusive policies with more Heart – known as Compassionate Meritocracy instead of Raw Meritocracy from Raw Capitalism
      (6) End-to-end tracking of retrenched, unemployed Singaporeans PMETs and Workers = from training, placement, counselling, mentoring to long-term employment
      (7) Etc ---- so many more policies to mention

WP in Parliament is merely saying PAP policies is good – but need more fine-tuning.

      Is this alternative policies?

If WP say they have done well in Parliament, pse mention how many alternative policies have they provided that are workable and have been adopted by Parliament?

All the above ideas come from an anonymous “烂伯” that have been adopted as policies by the Parliament ----- more than WP combined in Parliament.

In other words, one anonymous “烂伯” - is better than the WP.

What the PM say is right.

All we need is just a few really good Oppositions - not more Oppositions in Parliament that take up valuable seats in Parliament - but not able to contribute with better policies to improve the lives of Singaporeans.

Those seats should be given to candidates that can come up with more and better ideas in Parliament.

Honestly, did WP even come up with any policies that is worth mentioning in Parliament that caught the attention of Parliament or caught the eyes of Singaporeans?

      Look to me --- NIL.

But one anonymous “烂伯" outside the Parliament has contributed more than 10 policies - in fact lose count ----- that have been implemented as policies.

Such is the quality of WP candidates.
