12/07/2023, 10:18 am - +SL: According to definition found in aic website :
What is Household Means-Testing?
It considers the household monthly income per person.
By family members living in the household, it refers to all related family members (i.e. related by blood, marriage or legal adoption) staying at the same residential address with the patient or care recipient, as indicated in their NRICs.
This includes in-laws, siblings, grandchildren, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, step and legally adopted children, among others.
By total monthly gross earnings, it refers to:
For salaried employees - average monthly employment income received over the last available 12-month period, including bonuses.
For self-employed: (a) the monthly income derived from the last available net trade income as assessed by IRAS within the last two assessment years OR (b) the income declared to the CPF Board or the income assumed under the CPF laws within the last two years.
For households with no income, the annual value of their residence will be considered instead. This situation could arise for instance, in the case of an elderly retired couple whose children have moved out into homes of their own.

12/07/2023, 12:06 pm - +Frankie Wee: Yes still pending
12/07/2023, 12:08 pm - +Kenneth Lee WM: Prevention is better than cure. Early check ups will detect problems early.
Getting check ups and detecting problems early it less costly for everyone and the person heals better and faster.
eg: small lump requires just a simple snip but when lump grows big, it is near more critical structures, more complex, wound is larger, takes longer to heal, etc.
Insurance helps to pay for the costly procedures. If issues are detected early enough, insurance won't have to kick in.
12/07/2023, 12:09 pm - +Rama: Agree
12/07/2023, 12:14 pm - +Kenneth Lee WM: The healthy 365 app is also a good thing. encourage people to get fit so that overall health costs is lowered. it rewards the person about $5 every 2 months as well. with the data it collects, government can better price the group insurance. eg: if a lot of people are exercising, insurance costs can be lowered or at least, don't need to increase cost.

Medical insurance & Life Insurance?
"In some cases, patients diagnosed at stage 4 cancer which is common these days to detect cancer at late stage that is stage 3-4. This patient happened to have an existing life insurance policy,...!"
- - anonymity
Complex and Complicated?
In the medical case of cancer treatments and classifications from stage 1 to 4.
With regards to insurance claims, at the starting point, it is wise to obtain a letter of guaranteed from the insurer before being admitted into a hospital (unsubsidised, subsidised, private)
The stage of a patient's cancer is another matter of coverage and payout. There are exceptions and limitations into the future claims; it is best to ask the insurer such scenarios. It will be even more complex and complicated should the patient's illness (going into the future) include other parts of the body that needs medical attentions.
One guarantee, once a medical claim/case is opened, all insurance companies will have a record of this patient's case of concern.

12/07/2023, 2:02 pm - +SL: The condition of effective coverage of the insurance policy is also important.
12/07/2023, 2:04 pm - +Frankie Wee: Steve jobs apple co-founder he death on cancer battle. He has value assets left behind to pass on family.
12/07/2023, 2:04 pm - +Smiley face: Example of a first time claimant of hospitalisation fees.
Insurances company has its own calendar of counting the time and cycle for claims.
Assuming this case, this person needed hospitalisation and it happened to be October of that year.
However, in the calendar of the insurance company, it starts from March to Feb.
So this first time claimant policy spelled $600,000 annual claims allowed.
In this case, October to Feb is five months left to enjoy up to $600,000 coverage. The net allowed amount to claim in this case is $250,000.
Is this true or not?
12/07/2023, 2:06 pm - +Frankie Wee: 5 months over stay
Insurance hospital premium allow claim 90 days stay
12/07/2023, 2:06 pm - +Frankie Wee: Maybe extra payment
12/07/2023, 2:06 pm - +Smiley face: Just like car NCD of up to 50% discount,...
However it doesn't exist for hospitalisation Insurance premiums!
12/07/2023, 2:07 pm - +Frankie Wee: $600,000 amount can be different in specific conditions
12/07/2023, 2:08 pm - +Smiley face: It is wise to chat and check carefully all these tiny-winnie of things and get it cleared! And a peace of mind too!

12/07/2023, 2:09 pm - +SL: Yes, that is the concept that maybe encourages a large group of people to stay healthier without really budgeting a lot of funds.
12/07/2023, 2:09 pm - +Frankie Wee: What about different insurance premium in ADL 3-6, Hospital plan, cancer and CI
It’s a lot of money to pay insurance
12/07/2023, 2:10 pm - +SL: Sustainability in making sure the program success is essential for all stakeholders.

Operations, treatments, etc are the bombs which people are most afraid of...big cheques!
12/07/2023, 2:16 pm - +SL: Old soldiers listen to the firing sound and will know where the bullet target?
12/07/2023, 2:16 pm - +Smiley face: Specialist consultation starts at $200 with no subsidy and no medicine, just consultation talk...

12/07/2023, 2:17 pm - +Smiley face: Old soldiers are not afraid of bullets and noise but bombs kill!
12/07/2023, 2:17 pm - +Rama: π³π€¦♂️π
12/07/2023, 2:17 pm - +KSFoong: I hv personal experience. If u can afford the premium and if u r yound enough without any pre-existing conditions, do purchase adequate coverage. The moment your policy has any exclusion statements, that start the night mere in making your claim. It seems they hv ways to link everything to your pre-existing condition to deny your claim. Another issue is, most cancer treatments are out patient, but our medishield are hospitalization plan. In most cases, u can claim only a portion of your treatment cost.
It is good to find out more before u commit your premium.

There were around 268,500 MDWs in December 2022, the highest in at least five years. In 2021, this number was 246,300.
12/07/2023, 2:39 pm - +Smiley face: According to the Agency for Integrated Care’s website, basic costs range from $2,200 to $4,200 per month for a bed in a nursing home (before subsidies), depending on the level of care required. However, families have to be aware of additional charges such as a one-time refundable deposit and administrative fees. Ongoing extras, such as milk supplements and adult diapers, also have to be factored in.
Even these residential options have gone upmarket. For those who want a more comfortable abode, Allium Healthcare has entered the market, offering spacious, well-designed rooms next to greenery. It offers a whole host of therapeutic services, with a tab in the ballpark of $7,000 a month.

Should we continue to emphasize the teaching of good people to all our students from elementary school to college?

"Energy disperse, you can feel the ground but you can't feel the sea...?"
- - anonymity
If all energy spread then force of water also spread from the high to the low. It is entropidic system in play. The difference between the surface of the sea and the variable depth of the undersea will result in either low entropy or high entropy. How these differences in temperature may alter the energy flow in terms of speed and directions is worth looking at during sunrise, mid day and sunset; a 24 hours entropidic clock. Where to build the reinforcement if a country is mitigating climate change, frequent and extraordinary heavy rainfall and sea level rising?
What if either one of these years or all the above happens to have an extraordinary (once or twice or thrice) natural disaster such as a surge in sea level that will affect certain areas along the coastal line?
Will it affects Tampines down to Changi coast whereby more than 50cm rise in the sea water flooding the mainland 200m from the shore?
What are the existing discharging and catchment systems of water flow and the volumetric from rivers, big canal and the smaller connecting drains in these probable areas of concern? Are there existing records of the high and low tides in particular the East and Northeast part of SG?
On the perspective of the sea and the continental shelve, look for cavities and enclave, seaway of two land mass 30nm or less apart (South China sea into Johore straits, NE Batam), it will have multiple relations to the flow of a sudden high impact (surface wave or undercurrent) disperse of seawater. These are possible breaking points of divergence or penetration, is about the capacity of the seawater flow patterns. The intensity and variety specs of fishery (bottom to mid) is another indicator of water temperature and migration pattern from one temperature and depth to the next suitable habitat area especially to foreign species that are not commonly found in a local waterway (gateway). It's an ecosystem, balanced or imbalanced.
What's the variation compared to each full/new moon phrase +/- 2 days and the remaining days? How about the speed/retreat of the flow before/peak/after these high tides? Volume/Speed/Directions? How about big seismic movements below the sea? In particular, four lunar months of significant that is the 2nd, 5th, 8th, 9th. Wind happens to be the accelerator of climate and weather change.
Final, in every crisis comes along consequences and it is throughout the crisis human finds new ways to solve and to adapt just in case the next crisis happens to be similar to the one just happened!
*NOT MUCH TIME TO WASTE:
Let's start preparing because it may happen sooner than experts are thinking and predicting that is near to the 2050 scenarios!
If it happens, it will be an opportunity to test the polder system, learned from the experience and improve on it.
It's not an apocalypse, it is an opportunity to see, to learn and to remember to do your best when the next one comes! Fear nothing, if it happens it will be a valuable lesson to all scientists and engineers. It is mother's nature teaching us what to expect over time in various magnitudes of change, aka climatic challenges!

Benefits?
What is the significance about this Health plan? Are the benefits clearly explained in the shortest form and well communicated to the public?
Costs?
How much will it cost in the longer term to the individuals who subscribed to this Health plan?
How much savings will members benefit from?
How much will it cost the nation, annually and thereafter exponentially increased as the progression of an ageing society continues?
The ecosystems of basic or primary or early intervention Cares?
From the Polyclinic and the Private GPs or health groups, how can these primary caregivers work in sync or out of sync in serving the enlargement and challenges of well being aka patients welfare, at heart?
It is not a game of ping pong nor is it a touch and go home game!
May we start to gather resources, plan it well at the same time learn from other medical ecosystems such as Sweden to see their previous pitfalls and how they bounced and implement new measures to counter the unknown future of patients and illnesses including potential pandemics?
How about the costs of hospitalisation for critical cares whether is subsidised, unsubsidised or private ?
