1. Quoting this author :- A new strategy “one Chinese, two systems” (一中兩制) could be the answer. If nearly 30 countries of different backgrounds and diverse culture can form a European Union, surely the People’s Republic of China and Chinese Taiwan can form a “Chinese Union”.

2. I think this is a "Middle Ground" position for both China and Taiwan - in which both China and Taiwan take a step backward - and each concede a compromise.

3. Else without changing course - as rightly pointed out by this writer - a war between China and Taiwan - and will draw in more Countries into the fight - is quite imperative.

4. A "China Union" - the like of "European Union" --- will still be a "One China" - though this will require China to take a step backward - from a dominant position, and Taiwan to take a step forward - to assume an "equal or parity status" with China.

5. By doing so, a "One China" objective is achieved - without an imperative war.

Else it will bring death and destruction on both sides - and retard Economic growth, development and success achieved by both sides.

6. This require unsurpassed wisdom and brave heart - to make such a bold decision on both sides with determination to end many decades of "unresolved union" with conflict and confrontaion.

7. And if successful, both China and Taiwan can settle the seemingly "unsurpassable deadlock" that bog down both side for many decades --- and concentrate on Economic development.
