On Tuesday (May 17), Singapore's Finance Minister Lawrence Wong embarked on a four-day working trip to Indonesia. Over the course of the trip, Mr Wong met with Indonesia's top government leaders to discuss strengthening bilateral ties, and reaffirm existing partnerships in areas spanning economic, security and people-to-people spheres. Mr Wong also spoke with Indonesian leaders about opportunities to step up mutual cooperation, including on climate change and sustainability, and explore new areas of growth in sustainable tourism and creative industry.

On Tuesday (May 17), Singapore's Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan took a three-day work trip to Malaysia. Dr Balakrishnan called on Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob, was granted an audience with Sultan Nazrin Shah (the deputy king of Malaysia and Sultan of Perak), and met various government leaders. Speaking to the press, Dr Balakrishnan expressed hope that air and land connectivity would resume fully in the next few weeks and months. He also mentioned that the Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System was well underway and could take passengers by the end of 2026, and that a new ferry service from Desaru to Tanah Merah was being explored.

๐Ÿ’ฌ What are your views on the Government's move to strengthen our economic partnerships with our neighbouring countries? Are you looking forward to having more transport links to Malaysia in the future?

On Thursday (May 19), Mr Wong  announced that Kendal Industrial Park in Central Java, which is a joint venture between Singapore and Indonesia, is on course for expansion, with plans to build an international container port by 2024. In his announcement, he said, "All of us can look forward to more growth, more prosperity despite the challenges we see in the external environment, so long as we can continue to build on this strong spirit of collaboration and partnership between Indonesia and Singapore."

[10:10 am, 20/05/2022] +Uncle Law: As we all know Singapore being a small country with no natural resources, it is important for Singapore to continue maintain good bilateral relationship with neighbouring countries and countries around the world.

So much so, our defence ties with many militaries around the world, should one day we meet with threats, we may friends to rely on.

"put that history books at home when you are talking to others, it will lighten the baggages of the past, starts with a clean sheet of planning paper...?" (ๅ›ข็ป“ๅฐฑๆ˜ฏๅŠ›้‡)

- - annoymous

Colonial times and into pre Singapore independence, the West Malaysia was our Hinterland of hope and growth.

Today Singapore, perhaps, our immediate Hinterland is Asean!

There is an even urgency to integrate Asean into one evolving economics engine with multitude of strengths and opportunities, putting aside self interest of yours or mine (each country) and see that billion hopes and millions of possibilities! Importantly, Asean must stay united as one entity with a consensus and consistent long term vision of common prosperity, equality and inclusively solving all pending challenges with it intra or inter relations. This itself is a work in progress and audacity for the betterment of South East Asians (ไธœๅ—ไบšไบบ)!

              - - in progress - -

[1:32 pm, 20/05/2022] ☸️  Danny ๅฟƒ:

1. Singapore has 2 geographical immediate neighbors - up north (Malaysia) and down south (Indonesia) - that we need to maintain a good and close relationship with.

2. Reasons being:-

a. Border Security and National Security is our top concern - and maintaining good relationship with our 2 immediate neighbors will ensure our peace and security.

b. Malaysia and Indonesia being one of our main food suppliers - will ensure our food security as we are a major net importers of food.

c. Malaysia is also one of our major source of labour supply and Indonesia also provide domestic workers to Singapore.

3. To foster good and close relationship, there are needs to ensure:-

a. Mutual Economic Benefits - whereby mutual prosperity will cement our mutual stake - and thus less likely to provoke friction and tension among our 2 immediate neighbor

b. Internal security, fighting crime, anti-terrorism collaboration and cooperation between Singapore and Malaysia, Military exercise between Singapore and Indonesia, anti-terrorism collaboration - are means to foster confidence building, friendship and mutual trust.

c. Many cordial G-to-G, B-to-B, P-to-P engagement, relationship at all level - will prevent any misunderstanding, and if any differences will not magnified - from developing.

Differences can be resolved by give-and-take conflict resolution - without letting relationship turn sour.

4. Having say so, maintaining a good relationship with another neighbor further up North - Brunei will also be vital in ensuring our National Security - because Brunei can play a mediator role for us should any racial or religious undertone turn sour.

Brunei, a small Nation like us - has always been friendly and forge good understanding with us - since Independence.

5. At a larger context, maintain a good, tight collective ASEAN unity to advance our interest in the region - as geopolitical relationship turn increasingly challenging.

ASEAN as a bloc with one voice - will help to safeguard our collective interest while dealing with the 2 Superpowers - which are our 2 vital Big Powers.

Do masks cause lower oxygen levels while we breathe in more  carbon dioxide?

Answer - NO. Argument not based on science.

Measures with oximeter - while wearing mask - oxygen level did not drop.

[1:51 pm, 20/05/2022] ☸️  Danny ๅฟƒ:

Research shows that many of the microplastics in our bodies come from the air we breathe – not just from drinking bottled water or eating fish from polluted oceans.

Due to their small size, microplastics can be inhaled and may induce a wide range of diseases including respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, as well as cancer.

N95, reusable cloth masks block microplastics.

Are you breathing plastic air at home? Here’s how microplastics are polluting our lungs.

[1:53 pm, 20/05/2022] ☸️  Danny ๅฟƒ:

Argument that mask reduce oxygen saturation, breathe in carbon dioxide etc - come from anti-vaxx, anti-mask groups from US.

[1:54 pm, 20/05/2022] ☸️  Danny ๅฟƒ:

Surgical mask yes.

N95 is the most effective against microplastics follow by reusable cloth masks issue by our government.

"Coexist or Conflict?"

"Stability is the key to opportunities...!"

Prologue :

World Bank has posted China GDP outlook at 4.4% into Q4-2022.

What this 4.4% means is that China is at a TIPPING POINT into its domestic RECESSION.

Simply put it, China has enjoyed double digits annual GDP growth since entered WTO, this globalised world. Will there be changes and or succession at the top administration of China?

Today forecast of 4.4% is NOT SUSTAINABLE for the entire 1.3 billion mouths that is lives & livelihoods issues, the possible uprising of SOCIAL INEQUALITIES and follows by UNREST within China! As for the outside world, a major knee jerking effects on all foods, goods, and services to the down swings of recession and into a depressionary global economics? Will it happen?

Main:

Perhaps, the induction of Finland + Sweden into  NATO is an indicator of the weakening influences and threats of the Russians. China is known an ally of the Russians, it is like taking a STONE and KILLING TWO BIRDS simultaneously! The Ukraine war will be shorten within days towards ceased fire and a peace agreement will be drafted to include Eastern part of Ukraine to Russia and the Western part of include Kiev and Karkiev remains  the control of the Ukrainians. Perhaps, the existentially long and meandering Dnieper river will be the natural demarcation between Russia and Ukraine?

'In a war, things changed hands, any less is not a war; it is a business deal!"

What Putin gets?

Part of Ukraine, a way to deescalate his failed attempts, the continuation of oil & gas supplies to the European markets, controls of Wheat, free access to seaport and Black sea via the Turkish waterway and importantly a face saving chance for him and a bad boy image too ! Limited sea routes access up north of the nordic sea and exposures to thousand of km of natural open border with Finland. How about the future of North Pole sea roures and the massive unexplored natural resources?

What US gets?

Immediate reinstatement of the 1st position, the supreme global leader!

Two casualties of this war is Russia follows by China. In simple sense, no more leveraging (buddy buddy) between the two to counter the US! This hidden frictions between the Chinese and the Russians will remain to be seen and the future of hatred, betrayal and revenge of this two, only time will tell...?

How about Israel, the Middle East nations including Iran and Syria assuming the African continent is free from trouble? What's the impact and ripples to each of these nation?

Therefore this reset of the global leadership is pretty much clearly displayed aloud to all nations that the ONLY threat left is perhaps, CHINA! The next possible transiting hot War region of conflict shall be Taiwan, into the South China Sea and Asean as an economics entity?

This is a WAR IN PROGRESS that's what the Americans and the Chinese would tell the village of nations in secrecy for nothing is over until it is all over...!

It measure heartbeat and volume of air intake.

Perhaps future improved oximeter should also differential oxygen from any presence of carbon dioxide especially when people are masked up to an hour or longer? What's the exposure to carbon dioxide when one breathes with mask on?

But in a must strike - will need alot of intelligence and assessment - to ensure we do not suffer collateral damage.

Else F35s can't reach our shores without mid-air refuel.

Mr Howe by then was the head of the civil service, and believed that a new airport would help Singapore exploit its position at the heart of a growing South-east Asia. He was so convinced of the growth potential of aviation, he told planners to make room for not just two, but six runways in future.

Fast forward to today. By the 2030s, a fifth terminal will be built - "impressive, but still short of Howe's ambition by one", according to a new book on Mr Howe and his fellow pioneering civil servants."

To: Our Dintinguished Leaders And All Honorable Members

"Wheel Of Fortune Or Misfortune?"

"Your certain wants may not always be what others need...?"

- - annoymous

Foremost, in life, certain things have the natural power in dividing people and redistribute resources solely because of lacking one simple thing that is Water(ๆฐด)! Perspectively, within the geography of South East Asia, there is a common sea (salt water) which all along has been a conflict of who's owning it and more than one past owners.

Secondly, water is a critical resource, besides oil, to all growing and living things. The Brahmaputra, the Ganges, the Ayeyarwady river, the Tibetan highlands, the Mekong River flows all flow from the Himalayas down to Afghanistan, Pakistan, China, India, Bhutan. Nepal, Blangadash, Cambodia, Myanmar Thailand, Vietnam and Laos! It has been like this for almost 50 millions  years - the Everest ! Southeast Asia, the Mekong river, dated 17 millions years and is the longest river stretches 4,900km flows into five Asean countries. This critical basin of drinking and living water should it be taken away or disappear will result in billions of human in disparity, into the path of disputes and the eventual hot wars! How to coexist with one and other? One simple ecological issue will evolve into many social, political and economics uncertainties! A simple answer, no choice!

On the basis of strategic resource, same argument can also be applied to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. What if the Russians decide to turn-off or to ration the oil & gas supplies ? Will the entire Europe continent chocks up, goes havoc or in total chaos? Will such scenario be played in this end game theory (put aside the further fear of a nuclear threat theory) ?

Coming back to this simple water issue, what's if certain nations decide to RATION the drinkable water flow during dry seasons (control water dams) or overflow during wet seasons until flooded (open water dams) or turn-off (close water dams) this 'free for all' flowing Himalayan water for the reason of climate changes? What other nations will do and react, MAKE rain happens? How would these downstream nations react or on the verge of hot wars with one another? Possibility, it can be a 'natural' disaster in making?

Seriously speaking, you can forget about the visions 4.0 of a new digital and electric world of all sorts, these things need water too!

This water, so plain yet so powerful and a life threatening issue! Sooner your neighbors will tell you, we need water more than else than spinning that wheel of fortune? The next time, ooze it and don't chock on that cup of drinkable water when your neighbors or buddies tell you they are short of water?

“We forget that the water cycle and the life cycle are one.”

"put that history books at home when you are talking to others, it will lighten the baggages of the past, starts with a clean sheet of planning paper...?" (ๅ›ข็ป“ๅฐฑๆ˜ฏๅŠ›้‡)

An old story:

"In the clan's hall, there sat an established towkay seeping his Chinese tea with his clansmen and started drawing the entire stretch of Orchard as once upon in time was his ancestor's property and now claiming his, fortunately this Orchard lands became a flourish and busy road?"

Is this a wishful thought or is it existentially a valid and acceptable story?
