Many companies, community and individual volunteers are partnering the Government in its digitalisation efforts. How can we encourage seniors to embrace digitalisation?
In support of Seniors Go Digital programme, IMDA has worked with mobile service providers to offer two types of connectivity plans for seniors: Seniors Go Digital mobile plans with larger data bundles at a lower cost, and subsidised smartphones and data plans for lower-income seniors.
Under the newly formed SG Digital Office (SDO), digital ambassadors have been recruited with the aim of reaching out to seniors, as well as hawkers and wet market stallholders, and encourage them to adopt digital tools.
More than 300 youth volunteers from Youth Corps Singapore will also be reaching out to vulnerable seniors from 40 social service agencies from July 2020 to help seniors pick up relevant digital skills such as using digital devices, communicating online and practising good cybersecurity hygiene.

CQ
[2:16 pm, 30/06/2020] +: I did.......... How to search the sources, if something sounds incredulous must check first, don't just accept something as bible truth even if your friend sumpah gua jee that it's true...
Solid example. Remember there was a fake article saying that your hands can catch fire if you use a hand sanitiser? She sent me the link, I explained to her that it's not possible because as you rub your hands, the alcohol vaporises, so it won't catch fire like that. 1 week later, she sends me a similar WhatsApp chain message where it read "my friend's daughter suffered burns", and she took it to believe that it was her friend's friend's daughter, since the message came from her friend. So she took it to be a "personal warning" in that sense? And I taught her how to identify forwarded messages as well previously.
[2:16 pm, 30/06/2020] +: Haiz.... So to frus or not to frus?
[2:47 pm, 30/06/2020] +: yes that's true, but there was the fear mongering article that sanitisers with alcohol content catches fire when you cook.

[2:49 pm, 30/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
Hahahaha.
Well a China guy spray his whole house with alcohol to kill covid-19.
When he turn on his Aircon, it trigger an explosion and his whole block got burn down.

Ken
[2:49 pm, 30/06/2020] +: Non chemical person don’t know what is LEL
[2:50 pm, 30/06/2020] +: LEL lower explosive limited πŸ˜…
[2:50 pm, 30/06/2020] +: But to rich that concentration also quite toxic to humans
[2:50 pm, 30/06/2020] +: Reach”

CQ
[2:51 pm, 30/06/2020] +: well, let's just say that i'm glad that none of my aunt's friends tried to microwave their cash because "a lot of germs"!! 🀣

Ken
[2:51 pm, 30/06/2020] +: Haiz autocorrect is a problem
Lower explosive limit”

Ken
[2:55 pm, 30/06/2020] +: Anyway Temasek that time got give out water based disinfectant no?

[2:55 pm, 30/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
That's why Temasek distribute sanitizer that has no alcohol content.

CQ
[2:55 pm, 30/06/2020] +: This has been debunked though: https://apnews.com/afs:Content:8507181510

Ken
[2:55 pm, 30/06/2020] +: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16540196/
Anyway ways to make water based one... just that this one will have a bit of residue

CQ
[2:57 pm, 30/06/2020] +: anyway for most of us, just pop into the washroom and wash your hands with soap and water...
the issue wasn't so much the nature and effects of the disinfectant, but how easy it is for people to believe in fake news.

[2:57 pm, 30/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
Oh is it.
Nowadays very difficult to differentiate between true and fake news.

Rama
[2:58 pm, 30/06/2020] +: Oh!

[2:58 pm, 30/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
But alcohol sanitizer do cause harm to our skin and when children put it in their mouth - there will be harmful effects.

Ken
[3:00 pm, 30/06/2020] +: All chemicals have certain harmful effects of over used. Soap and water the best to disinfect hands
[3:01 pm, 30/06/2020] +: The change of pH itself will kill most bacteria and viruses.

CQ
[3:08 pm, 30/06/2020] +: To be absolutely nitpicky about it, even if you use the wrong kind of soap or wash your hands too much, the skin can also dry out and crack. have to follow up with moisturiser afterwards lor.

Ken
[3:10 pm, 30/06/2020] +: 🀷‍♂️ then how? Lol
I work in lab also no issue.... no such things as dry hands. Partly using better grade soap comes with moisturizer πŸ˜…

CQ
[3:11 pm, 30/06/2020] +: Yah lor, use better grade soap and/or follow up with moisturiser lor. Or take a spa day and put hand mask!! 😝

XaniceAcai
[4:14 pm, 30/06/2020] +: Trust the local newspaper... Not like funni website..

CQ
[4:18 pm, 30/06/2020] +: Even local newspapers like Zaobao or Wanbao also sometimes picked up on fake news before it gets debunked... And it's always the sensationalised news that is remembered but never the clarifications that come later.

XaniceAcai
[4:19 pm, 30/06/2020] +: Some are breaking news.. So a short summary. Wait for full news loh..

Blue and White Flag Guy
[4:20 pm, 30/06/2020] +: They want to stay in the know and be the first to report, so they don't really care until people start to make noize say it's fake news

XaniceAcai
[4:20 pm, 30/06/2020] +: Yeah.. Just read at the glance...
[4:21 pm, 30/06/2020] +: Google to them how to detect fake news..

[4:51 pm, 30/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
We are in the middle of a deep serious crisis that rival the 1930 deep depression.

We must vote wisely and ensure we have a strong and good government team to tie us through this crisis.

We must not cripple the team that can save us and move us out of this crisis - our lives, our jobs, our economy and our future.

Rama
[4:51 pm, 30/06/2020] +: Totally agree

Thomas
[5:04 pm, 30/06/2020] +: Need 2nd voice but must contribute with solutions that is likely workable or logical and not complain

Ken
[5:04 pm, 30/06/2020] +: Complaint and no solution most of the time. Singaporean way 🀣🀣
Then after sometime forget 🀷‍♂️

XaniceAfcai
[5:20 pm, 30/06/2020] +: Go with yr heart..

[5:28 pm, 30/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
The hypothesis assumption is if MP work full-time, then town council fund won't be mismanaged.
Got to test this hypothesis is it true.

Ken
[5:32 pm, 30/06/2020] +: For me is more simple, you have more times on your hands you walk the ground. Other than special days.
Cabinet only a handful of them. The rest can focus on the place they are caring for.

[5:35 pm, 30/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
Then another hypothesis to test is :- is full time MP better than non full time MP.
I think the test is base on election results from past track record.

Blue and White Flag Guy
[5:35 pm, 30/06/2020] +: No need say further lah we know

Ken
[5:37 pm, 30/06/2020] +: Many of them are overworked, having multiple hats... booking them for events is hard. 1 to 2 months in advance.
Almost every weekend burn events after events, once or twice a week night burn for MPS. They can be very good at what they do but they are still human.

Blue and White Flag Guy
[5:38 pm, 30/06/2020] +: If you want, then might as well do performance review of every MP and deal with those that ponteng and only appear once every 4 or 5 years

Leonard Lau
[5:43 pm, 30/06/2020] +: I propose that every candidate must demostrate his ability in community building  with a servant-leadership in mind .
A candidate perhaps has to be involved eg. 10 years in community service before he can join the GE.
From this aspect , he/she would be tested and likely possessed skilled eg. Finance ,  mangement etc as well as  understanding of real social issues .

[5:45 pm, 30/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
As far as I know, capable people, whether politicians, top civil servants, top business people, top professionals seldom hold one post.
They are double hats, triple hats or more.
It is a waste of talents if one can do more than one hat but are force to do one post.
Many MPs are also office holders.

If human able to eat meat by not keeping and slaughtering too many animals - then human will not subject to such animal to human host epidemic.
[9:16 pm, 30/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
Eg. Cell culture meat will be a good option.

[9:34 pm, 30/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
Our R&D should work doubly hard to perfect the cell culture meat and tissue re-engineering meat.
And offer this as another food source not only to the local market but also the overseas markets.
This will drastically reduced the need to rear and slaughter animals for food and reduced the animals to human host epidemic.

What are the precautions we should continue to take even in Phase 2?
Twelve places, are among the new places on a list of venues which Covid-19 patients visited.
The Ministry of Health (MOH) provides a list of locations that COVID-19 patients have visited for more than 30 minutes to get those who were at these places to monitor their health closely for two weeks from the date of their visit.
Those who were there at the same time should monitor their health closely for two weeks from the date of their visit.
It has said that close contacts would already have been notified and that there is no need to avoid these places as they would have been cleaned if needed.

Sports is one area that provides a loophole in our fight against the virus.

1. Many people congregate in the sport facilities.

2. Many in sports don't wear a face mask.

3. People breathe in and out harder and can cause spreading faster.

Thus to close this loophole, suggest people put on face shield in sports.

It provides some protection and prevent droplets from projecting into the air.

[1:50 pm, 27/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
My close friend observation:-

Last night around 830pm to 930 pm. open area courts  near NEX mall.

I See So many basketball courts/ badminton courts got so many people.
Wonder how many allowed?

They were in group a of seven  or eight. Some courts were shared by 2 groups. So add up 十几δΈͺ。

Dining and sports high risk cos people don't wear masks.

Then sports is a loophole and can become a super spreader event if not careful.

Today marks the start of the second week of Phase 2. How can we continue to take part in community activities in a safe manner?
Under phase 2 of the re-opening of Singapore’s economy which started last Friday, more businesses are now operating, and dining-in is also allowed at food and beverage outlets.
Speaking at a virtual press conference yesterday, Health Minister Gan Kim Yong and National Development Minister Lawrence Wong said that
Singapore will not be moving down from Dorscon orange for some time to come because the country is still not out of the woods yet for Covid-19.
They cautioned against letting our guard down and called for people to "maintain our guard" and "maintain our vigilance".

There are alot of fake news coming out from anti-mask news.
Florida is one of the highest infection rates.
Trump is a role model of anti mask hero.
That's why US has more than 2 million people infected and the highest death rate in the world.

[2:25 pm, 26/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
To counter fake news - we must use our wisdom.

Ben
[2:26 pm, 26/06/2020] +: Should medical care be suspended from people who put others in harms way? She puts people at risk by not wearing a mask. She puts children, parents, workers in danger by her own belligerence.

Stella

Eugene
[3:24 pm, 26/06/2020] +: hopefully most of the cases are either linked or asymptomatic and there isn't any new clusters in the community

Ben
[3:27 pm, 26/06/2020] +: Yes, but the problem here is that careless people infect others who might be trying to stay safe.

Jimmy Chew
[3:28 pm, 26/06/2020] +: Haha weirdo america. They end up dumb because they were the best before but didn't concentrate on education. So all very dumb now. some can't read and write.

Anne
[4:23 pm, 26/06/2020] +: Can we be sure she did not put on mask because she is selfish, or because she had a different perspective or understanding? Initially when Singapore was infected with C-19, we didn’t see the need to wear masks either.

Ben
[4:38 pm, 26/06/2020] +: Nor did we see the need for a lockdown. Best to examine the evidence don't you think? Pretty clear now we have more information to make better decisions. Do you have a different perspective?

Anne
[4:50 pm, 26/06/2020] +: This is exactly what I mean. Initially we didn’t see a need for masks and circuit breaker, so let’s not just assume that anybody who didn’t see a need for masks and lock downs are thinking and acting selfishly.

Dong Liang
[4:52 pm, 26/06/2020] +: I thought they initially plan to send Abu bakar from Keppel, he is definitely more popular than Ivan Lim.

[5:04 pm, 26/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
Important to ask is:-

1. For a prolong period of time when people deal with him, is he like that or the particular incident is one off?

2. If one off and not a perpetual behaviour, then we must be big hearted to accept him.

3. Because no one is perfect in this world.

4. Who can raise their hand and say they never err in their whole entire life but live like a Saint and flawless?

Yes.
One must be kind in the heart first.
And then improve for the better.
Because no one is perfect.
And when one is mindful, one will be conscious to improve their not so perfect parts.

[5:36 pm, 26/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
Yes. There will be check and balance.
If a behaviour is persistent, people will find out and he will get voted out in one term.
But if he has changed and contribute in positive ways, then we have given him a chance and we have not wasted a talent.

Rama
[5:41 pm, 26/06/2020] +: A leopard cannot change its spots!

Ken
[5:45 pm, 26/06/2020] +: No one is perfect, but not too sure. Do we gave him the chance?
Partly also he need to be mentally strong cause any down fall will also be considered inside. 🀷‍♂️
But we have good example TPL manage to pull off a SMC. 🀷‍♂️
So we never know.
[5:46 pm, 26/06/2020] +: Being a MP is not a normal job. Is worst then being a celebrity. With every action under a microscope.

Dong Liang
[5:51 pm, 26/06/2020] +: I am sure he is mentally strong if not he won't be able to climb so high in the corporate life. But being a MP needs to have compassion and empathy, which Ivan lim really lacks judging from the online comments. Compassion is difficult to pick up.

CQ
[5:52 pm, 26/06/2020] +: There were multiple anecdotes of him from various points in life, from poly, to uni, to army, to reservist, to Keppel. All attesting to his elitist, humble brag, and zero empathy/ consideration for those subordinate to him.
As Min Masagos said, you don't look at one incident but you need to look at his whole life. I agree. Unfortunately this statement has become a double-edged sword if those anecdotes were indeed true, that he's really not a good person.
I agree that we are not saints and we don't purport to be one. But when there's more than 1 person coming out to attest to his attitude (and of course taken with a pinch of salt because its social media), should we still ignore those stories or should we think a bit more about what kind of a leader is he going to be?

Ken
[5:53 pm, 26/06/2020] +: Lol I am sure I met a few that don’t just act. But what can we do? Pull down the minister that are inside the GRC? πŸ˜”

CQ
[5:53 pm, 26/06/2020] +: I agree. Hard skills can learn, soft skills also can pick up. Character is hard to change.

Jimmy Chew
[6:08 pm, 26/06/2020] +: Takes lots of guts to call out a politician. Like those who complained about Trump. When no one support the whistle blower. They have to bow out. Elitism is deep. They will remember

[6:14 pm, 26/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
Many people write off TPL in Machperson as she display her atas barang barang.
But now it turn out that she is a competent, well like MP in Machperson.
Not the one that's posted in social media that she is snobbish.
So .......?

Ivan Lim saga: PAP’s Masagos says GE is time for candidates to ‘redeem’ themselves

SINGAPORE — In light of online allegations made against new People’s Action Party (PAP) candidate Ivan Lim Shaw Chua, the General Election is a time for individuals to “redeem” themselves, said the party’s vice chairman Masagos Zulkifli on Friday (26 June).
“GE is a time when people who have been introduced will also elicit responses, which are not surprising sometimes. But also I think it is important for the candidates who may have been alleged to be something or other to also prove themselves,” said Masagos, who was addressing a virtual press conference.
“And I think it is not a moment in their career or their time with people that define them, but as a person throughout their life, and also an opportunity for them if they have done something in the past, to redeem themselves. Because we have seen qualities in all our candidates that make them what we think (are) good leaders that will serve our people well.”
Masagos, who did not mention any names, was responding to a question about online criticisms of Lim, 42, who was formally unveiled as a candidate on Monday. Since then, multiple posts have emerged online, purportedly from former colleagues and National Servicemen, claiming that he is arrogant, elitist and lacks compassion.
Lim currently manages specialised vessels for Keppel Shipyard. The father of four has been volunteering at Henderson-Dawson constituency over the past year.

[6:36 pm, 26/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
Well I leave it to the party to assess the risk.
As a person, I am willing to give him a chance to prove and redeem himself.

Rama
[6:36 pm, 26/06/2020] +: Hopefully

[6:37 pm, 26/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:

Rama

maybellrejoice1
[6:42 pm, 26/06/2020] +: Yes it's important to give people chances to redeem themselves. Everyone deserves mercy, compassion & forgiveness & not condemnation. All of us are not perfect & we have alot of flaws. Cannot be self righteous or judgemental too soon. It's best that we judge ourselves first.

Dong Liang
[6:43 pm, 26/06/2020] +: What turns out to be an asset initially for the party to motivate people who has  humble beginnings can succeed in life now becomes a liability. It is no doubt the tea session selection didnt achieve its objective.

CQ
[6:51 pm, 26/06/2020] +: It's not that I'm not prepared to give him a chance, but with so many accounts of him in that light, I would place him on the backburner for another 4 years and let him rehabilitate himself there first, let him show the people that he recognises past criticisms and he's no longer like that. It's not just about 2nd chances, it's also to see whether he can really fit the role of being a true leader with empathy which 4G is really looking for.

Rama
[6:52 pm, 26/06/2020] +: Likewise

[6:54 pm, 26/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
Well the party have to assess people sentiment on him.
If majority feel the same, and is not comfortable, versus those who can give him a chance to prove and redeem himself.
The party I believe will weigh the balance.
For me I am open.

You either step down and resign or sue the bugger until he say sorry. PAP has a clean and no nonsense image. They are morally upright and image is squeaky clean just like our SIA SQ stewards and stewardess. Image is everything.

@@@@@
You're so right. πŸ‘

Danny
Hahahaha...

@@@@@
Thank you Danny for the info. πŸ€— The PAP actually does extensive background checks on candidates.
If a person is so morally flawed, without any hope for redemption, they will never be considered. There will definitely be naysayers with an axe to grind. Those who have come out in the open to destroy /condemn others on social media; already says alot about them. They have a personal vendetta for revenge.
So sorry if I wrote too much. Just sharing my thoughts.

Danny
No problem.
I look at issue based on objective assessment and understand the system behind it before posting in REACH.

Yes, you're very understanding, reasonable &  intelligently non-judgemental.
Appreciate your temperate views.
Tks again. 😊

Part (2a) Promote other Bright Economic Sectors - to stimulate Economic Activities and grow GDP

But there are bright Economic Sectors that we can promote - to beef up the Economic Activities to keep the Circular Flow of Income going - and stir the multiplier effects :-
3. IT (Digital Economy), eCommerce sector - rapidly transform traditional business to Digital business to create 2nd wing -- that will allow not only domestic consumers to order the goods and services --- but also allow overseas consumers to order the goods and services). This will have helped to support the ITM (Industry Transformation Map) objectives in double quick time.

----
[12:06 pm, 27/05/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
(1) This virus pandemic has cause many business to grind to a halt.

(2) But at the same time, the virus pandemic has force many businesses who did not transform fast enough to do a cold turkey transformation to exploit digital ecommerce in order to survive.

(3) This has fulfil ITM (Industry Transformation Map) objective of transforming many traditional industries and business to embrace digital technologies to grow their international reach - whether for big enterprises, medium enterprises and even small enterprises - in a double quick time.

(4) By doing so, our businesses can help the Economy to grow phenomenally as our domesitc market is make up of only 5.6 million consumers and $560 billion domestic market.

(5) By embracing digitial technology to transform their business into eCommerce with international reach - we are tapping into the vast international market of $90 trillion and 6 billion people international market - a much larger market and business opportunities for our Enterprises.

(6) The current fortitude budget has further catalyse business especially SMEs to digitise their payment system like "Paynow SQ QR code", making purchase orders through online eDelivery platofrm etc. - where not only neighborhood customers can order their foods - but also people living in other parts of the Country.

(7) SMEs such as retail can also tap on digital platform, and utilise our global logisitical hub and regional supply chain to sell their products even to overseas customers.

(8) All these will help our local business to grow - not only catering to the local domestic market but also to international market.

(9) The combined "brick and mortar" business plus the newly transformed digital eCommerce platform - will help our local business to expand their business and customer base - that include not only their traditional customers, it also include customers outside the neighborhood and even overseas customers.

(10) If many businesses in Singapore are successful in transforming their business to harness Digital eCommerce, then on aggregate - our Economy will have expanded many fold.

(11) When the virus pandemic is finally over, our business can jumpstart and become a springboard to make our Economy flourish and gorow phenomenally - when the world lockdown is removed.

(12) If we succeed in transfoming our aggrgated business and Economy during this virus pandemic, then in short time, Government can accumulate good surplus and repay the money back (a whopping $52 billion) to the reserves that we have borrowed to tie over this virus pandemic.

(13) If our reserves are continuously depleted, Singapore without natural resources --- will be in deep trouble --- as if the next crisis strike --- we have nothing left to cushion and help our business and people back to the pink of health.

Today is the second day of Phase 2 of the post-circuit breaker. How are you and your families adjusting so far?
Yesterday, Singapore entered Phase 2 of the post-circuit breaker period. Retail outlets, sports facilities and beaches are allowed to reopen. Dining in is also allowed if people keep to a maximum of five in a group.

I think 2nd wave is a possibility if not careful.

Just now when I buy groceries, I still bring my tingkat to tabao my noodles instead of dining in.

The shop is small and people all packed in to eat all with masks off.

I don't feel safe. If one get it all those with masks off will get it.

So will have to tabao for a long time to come.

If once or twice a month go to food courts to eat that is more spacious and don't need to share seat with strangers and if the best they install plastic shield - then can eat in food court and quickly put on the mask when finish eating.

As long as vaccine and treatment don't come out - better play safe to prevent the 2nd wave.

[3:14 pm, 20/06/2020] : I'm feeling very uncomfortable after seeing all the pictures and accounts of long lines and crowds forming in malls, restaurants, and night spots like Holland V. While I can understand that people are excited to be out and about after being cooped up at home for so long, I fear that all our past efforts of circuit breaker and strict enforcement of social distancing would've gone down the drain.

I'm updating this post as a few people have shared with me Facebook and Instagram posts showing many people gathering in Holland Village. I understand there are crowds gathering in other areas as well. We will step up patrols of nightspots, and will take enforcement actions against operators and individuals who breach safe distancing measures.
As we approach the first weekend of Phase 2, many of us have probably made plans for activities that we haven’t been able to enjoy in the last few months. However, we must remember that COVID-19 remains a threat, and act responsibly, limit our contact with others, and practise good personal hygiene.
Observing the spirit of the law is as important as adhering to the letter of the law. As Gan Kim Yong put it — we can fool the rules, but we cannot fool the virus.
Personally, I have found it useful to keep in mind the DID:
Distance - Keep a safe distance from others, at least 1m apart.
Intensity - Minimise physical interaction as far as possible and put your masks back on after eating or drinking.
Duration - Keep the gathering short.
By maintaining the good habits that we have been practising during the circuit breaker period and in Phase 1, we can create a COVID-safe environment for everyone, as we go about our daily lives.

[3:31 pm, 20/06/2020] : Is this from a reliable source? Seems strange there wouldn't be an SDO's on that street in HV on the first night of Phase 2.

Rama
[3:31 pm, 20/06/2020] : Yes

Ben

I'm updating this post as a few people have shared with me Facebook and Instagram posts showing many people gathering in Holland Village. I understand there are crowds gathering in other areas as well. We will step up patrols of nightspots, and will take enforcement actions against operators and individuals who breach safe distancing measures.

Ben
[3:34 pm, 20/06/2020] : Definitely not questioning this post - it's the people who sent him the photos, and where they got them from.
[3:35 pm, 20/06/2020] : I also think it's likely there are many breaches at the moment. I wonder what the SDO plan is for the first weekend of Phase 2, when it's likely people would be out in force
[3:35 pm, 20/06/2020] : There are obvious places likely to be a problem. That road in HV is full of bars and is closed to traffic.

Desmond Koh
[3:38 pm, 20/06/2020] : What’s SDO?

Blue and White Flag Guy
[3:38 pm, 20/06/2020] : Officer isit

Ben
[3:39 pm, 20/06/2020] : Social Distanting Officer
[3:40 pm, 20/06/2020] : Major problem in the photos are people smoking. They are all leaving the dine-in to go smoke. Maybe that needs addressing.

Desmond Koh
[3:41 pm, 20/06/2020]  There’s only safe distancing ambassador (SDA) or safe distancing enforcement officer (SDEO)
SDO could be confused to be the SG Digital Office πŸ˜‚

Blue and White Flag Guy
[3:41 pm, 20/06/2020] : Eh next time got pandemic and we still here ah I tell you all I'm not going to entertain trolls, I make sure only essential journeys are made
Once again, goes to show we can't trust the sinkies to behave

Ben
[3:42 pm, 20/06/2020] : Oops, sorry - SDA I meant :)

Desmond Koh
[3:42 pm, 20/06/2020] : SDA & SDEO do not enforce smoking in public places de
[3:43 pm, 20/06/2020] : Maybe should let the whole country know how many SDEO can give fine haha

As of 12pm, MOH has preliminarily confirmed an additional 218 cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore.
Majority are Work Permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.
Based on investigations so far, 2 are cases in the community (both are Work Pass Holders).
MOH will share further updates in its press release that will be issued later tonight.

Blue and White Flag Guy
[3:43 pm, 20/06/2020] : Honestly what is safe distancing when it takes 2 SDAs to lecture someone right beside a queue

Ben
[3:44 pm, 20/06/2020] : 🀦‍♂️

Blue and White Flag Guy
[3:44 pm, 20/06/2020] : Might as well change their capacity to Mask Wearing Ambassadors

CQ
[3:44 pm, 20/06/2020] : Didn't take a photo, but when my hubby headed down to buy lunch and dinner, the crowds forming at the restaurants and bars were told to me corroborated the other personal accounts from friends on social media, even if I were to discount the photos which are widely circulated.

Desmond Koh
[3:45 pm, 20/06/2020] : Actually is for safety la.. later kana the NPARKS incident again

Ben
[3:45 pm, 20/06/2020] : Yes the photos do seem genuine.... and that comes from suspicious me :)

Blue and White Flag Guy
[3:46 pm, 20/06/2020] : Right beside a queue though, they can go somewhere else that doesn't defeat the purpose of safe distancing

Ben
[3:46 pm, 20/06/2020] : I get we have to open the economy otherwise more business and more jobs are lost.
[3:47 pm, 20/06/2020] : Perhaps could have had tighter controls on exactly how and a way to limit people just hanging around and congregating in the streets.

Rama
[3:47 pm, 20/06/2020] : Yes

Ben
[3:47 pm, 20/06/2020] : Alcohol is a problem and they kept that to 10.30pm limit. Maybe only drinks with food, rather than bars. Not sure....

CQ
[3:48 pm, 20/06/2020]  :) never wrong to take what you see online with a pinch of salt. As much as I wish those would've been fake, unfortunately it tallies with what I've heard of. That's why I'm sad that past efforts may have been wasted..

Rama
[3:48 pm, 20/06/2020] : Hope so
[3:48 pm, 20/06/2020] : . Yes

Ben
[3:49 pm, 20/06/2020] : Looks like I'll be staying home from Monday. My guess is we'll see a spike again next week as the virus starts to spread again.
[3:49 pm, 20/06/2020] : Although the effects could take 2 weeks I suppose before numbers go up.

Blue and White Flag Guy
[3:50 pm, 20/06/2020] : See I was never wrong about all these people
[3:50 pm, 20/06/2020] : Once again a letdown of society

Danny
Q: MUST MASKS BE WORN AT FOOD AND BEVERAGE OUTLETS? HOW ABOUT AT GYMS, FITNESS STUDIOS, BEACHES AND PLAYGROUNDS?
A: As masks must be worn outside homes, they must be worn at all these venues.
They can also be removed when eating or drinking.

Ben
[4:08 pm, 20/06/2020] : Yes, and smoking it seems!

Alvin
[4:38 pm, 20/06/2020] : So if I have food constantly in my mouth I no need mask?

Observing the spirit of the law is as important as adhering to the letter of the law. As Gan Kim Yong put it — we can fool the rules, but we cannot fool the virus.

[4:47 pm, 20/06/2020] : Hmm how far away though haha.. all the smoking zone removed lioa lei
[4:48 pm, 20/06/2020] : Not related to smoking, it was indoors

[4:59 pm, 20/06/2020] : I’m short a couple cannot stand together in a queue lol
[4:59 pm, 20/06/2020] : Still not explicit enough cuz they weren't in a queue 😏
[4:59 pm, 20/06/2020] : Unless you mean queue to Hades
[5:00 pm, 20/06/2020] : Then is section 7 para 3 liao πŸ˜‚

MSM : main stream media, TV News paper

[5:15 pm, 20/06/2020] : SDA is legally empowered to ask u to comply his/her instructions as a public servant but cannot fine or arrest you.

SDEO have the above and fine and arrest you!
[5:21 pm, 20/06/2020] : Just stating the facts here ☺️
[5:23 pm, 20/06/2020] : Phase 2 is going to be a can of worms
[5:23 pm, 20/06/2020] : The less ambiguity of the rules the better
[5:23 pm, 20/06/2020] : Yes
[5:24 pm, 20/06/2020] : When is phase 3 going to come?
[5:24 pm, 20/06/2020] : Phase 3 no need mask right?
[5:24 pm, 20/06/2020] : Section 35, para 2a(iv) is very powerful πŸ˜†
[5:26 pm, 20/06/2020] : Btw section 35 para 1f is hospital or medical institution...
[5:27 pm, 20/06/2020] : Iirc all phases still need mask

The following strategies are vital to our future economic growth and generation of new high value added jobs :-

These Singapore Together Alliances for Action - partnerships between industry players and the Government - will aim to rapidly prototype new ideas in a bid to grow the country's economy.
On the industry-led alliances, he said these will explore and execute new ideas in the coming months in seven areas: robotics, e-commerce, environmental sustainability, digitalisation of supply chains and the built environment, education technology as well as enabling safe travel and tourism.
"The key is speed and agility. Successful projects will become new shoots of growth, and generate new jobs," he said.
The alliances will generate ideas in a three-month period, and share preliminary results and next steps later this year.

---
Particularly important are the 7 new growth areas highlighted by DPM Heng Swee Keat that will generate new business areas and new high value added jobs will emerge from these 7 growth areas.
(1) AI, robotics, e-commerce, digitalisation of supply chains and the built environment - will help to fuel a new wing of growth to every traditional industry sector - by improving productivity with AI and robotics and e-Commerce will help local business to extend their business not only to domestic market, but will also extend their business to overseas market and global reach to our locally made goods and services.

(2) Environmental Sustainability industry will help us to build climate defenses, energy, transport - to protect Singapore from rising sea level and unpredictable climate, rainfall etc.   as well as developing food supply that will help us to secure our food sources locally in the event if global food supply are disrupted by drastic climatic changes.

(3) Education technology is realtime, online, remote and new ways of learning not only for young students but also for working adults as well as for seniors.
Education content that will help Singaporeans to gain working skills should also be the focus in education technology.

--
(4) Safe travelling and tourism -- will be a new focus to gain trust in attracting business travellers, tourists, neighboring workers, MICE travellers for meetings, conventions, conventions --- that have crippled us and billions of dollars are lost in air travel, cruise, hotels, F&B, retails, areas of attractions etc.
Thus brainstorming to ensure and invite such travellers to start visiting Singapore safely for the travellers as well as ensure that the travellers will not bring in virus and infect our Community become extremely important.
If Singapore is able to conceptualise a "failsafe approach" from overseas travelling and tourism into Singapore amidst this covid-19 duration ----- then we can bring back tourism business and tourism jobs to the airlines, MICE business, hotels, F&B, retails and area of attractions.
---

[9:38 pm, 20/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
Notice that DPM Heng is very focus on 2 main thrust :-
(1) Deepening Internal capabilities of R&D in AI, robotics, digitalisation, biomedical.
- Transforming internal business of new growth area and training workers to helm these jobs.

(2) Extending external linkages through digitalisation, re-engaging supply chain - to forge, re-configure and anchor External Economy.

[3:40 pm, 19/06/2020] : Agree. Like our government!
[3:58 pm, 19/06/2020] : How is it that a prison inmate is on a social visit pass!?
[3:59 pm, 19/06/2020] : One new community case from this person!

[4:12 pm, 19/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
Today almost all shops open.
In some coffee shops are packed with people while some not many people.
The coffee shop that are packed did not have social distancing or alternate seats.

[4:33 pm, 19/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
After taking their lunch, many people don't put their mask back but start to talk with their mask down.
Goodness don't look like a good sign.
People are getting too complacent.

Rama
[4:51 pm, 19/06/2020] : Double standards!

Caleb
[4:52 pm, 19/06/2020] : Hmmm. But he is holding a  bread?

[4:54 pm, 19/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
More than 5 in a campaign trail.
Flout campaigning rules?

Rama
[4:55 pm, 19/06/2020] : No SDA nearby!?

Timothy Low
[4:55 pm, 19/06/2020]  Since when this chat group has turned into one that bash the opposition?

Blue and White Flag Guy
[4:56 pm, 19/06/2020] : It's not bash the opposition
[4:56 pm, 19/06/2020] : It's bash people with no common sense

Ken
[4:56 pm, 19/06/2020] : I think so too.. non politics here please

Rama
[4:58 pm, 19/06/2020] : Agree

Ken
[4:58 pm, 19/06/2020] : Anyway our discussion here, what do Megan do to it?
[4:58 pm, 19/06/2020] : She summarized then sent the useful ones?

Blue and White Flag Guy
[4:58 pm, 19/06/2020] : Yes, what else could it possibly be?
[4:59 pm, 19/06/2020] : Oh, throw the rubbish ones in the rubbish can

[4:59 pm, 19/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
Can these people flout the rules in phase 2 - regardless who they are?

Ken
[4:59 pm, 19/06/2020] : Not everyday is productive lol is brainstorming sure will divest a bit 🀣

Blue and White Flag Guy
[5:00 pm, 19/06/2020] : No, no able bodied person should be given exceptions

[5:00 pm, 19/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
This is not politics - it is flouting the phase 2 rules.

CQ
[5:00 pm, 19/06/2020] : Yah, actually I was also wondering..... Is this just a space for them to throw a vague question out for discussion and then let us vent, but does anything even gets collated back for reference? What do they do with all of that info anyway?

[5:00 pm, 19/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
They are setting bad examples for the public.

Blue and White Flag Guy
[5:01 pm, 19/06/2020] : Yes they do, you'll know it when they announce loud loud "THANK YOU CONTRIBUTORS, YOUR VOICES HAVE BEEN HEARD!" or something like that

Ken
[5:01 pm, 19/06/2020] : If not a bit pointless when we talk don’t know what is taken in... cause they also don’t get feedback as well

[5:02 pm, 19/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
Maximum 5 people apply to the public as well.

Ken
[5:02 pm, 19/06/2020] : Sometimes the chat get flooded so much πŸ˜†

[5:03 pm, 19/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
So they're above the law?

SS
[5:03 pm, 19/06/2020] : I am wondering how this data shared here will be used or even be determined to be shared to the higher up?

Alvin
[5:03 pm, 19/06/2020] : but the table only 5 pax right?

Timothy Low
[5:05 pm, 19/06/2020] : No one is above the law. What I’m trying to say is this is not the correct platform

https://bigpharmanews.com/2020-06-10-bombshell-secret-lancet-nejm-big-pharma-criminal-enterprise.html

[5:05 pm, 19/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
You mean they are not flouting the law in phase 2.

Timothy Low
[5:06 pm, 19/06/2020] : It’s obvious that there are 5 people sitting in the same table. That’s not against the rules

https://www.yahoo.com/news/twitter-restores-account-financial-market-130303755.html

[5:07 pm, 19/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
But more than 5 people in a group?

Timothy Low
[5:08 pm, 19/06/2020] : They can be in groups of 5 and that’s not against the rule. For example if I want to dine out with my family of 7, I have one table with 5 family members and another table with 2 other family members. Not against the rules what

[5:08 pm, 19/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
Campaigning rules say 5.

Timothy Low
[5:10 pm, 19/06/2020] : Did you see the 6th person campaigning?
[5:10 pm, 19/06/2020] : Are they campaigning in the first place?

Eunice Chia
[5:10 pm, 19/06/2020] : Agree

Alvin
[5:11 pm, 19/06/2020] : I agree with Timothy. Only 5 are seated without their masks. The guy standing up is having his mask on and not seated down. Doesn't count as flouting the rules.

[5:11 pm, 19/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
6 people in red shirt.

Alvin
[5:11 pm, 19/06/2020] : Again, there is going to be a grey area though.

Alvin
[5:12 pm, 19/06/2020] : Eg. 6 pax sitting down but all with their masks on.

Timothy Low
[5:12 pm, 19/06/2020] : So people cannot wear the same colour of shirt?

[5:12 pm, 19/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
Up to REACH to feedback to ELD to do the investigation.
No need to argue further.

Alvin
[5:12 pm, 19/06/2020] : Eg. 1 pax standing up but masks off and drinking something.

Timothy Low
[5:13 pm, 19/06/2020] : There you go. This is not the platform. Feel free to bring up to ELD

Ken
[5:13 pm, 19/06/2020] : Too sensitive topic to talk here lar.. I agree might have issue but since already published on the web no need for us to debate. If wrong they will follow up

Alvin
[5:13 pm, 19/06/2020] : of cos bro, we took money from reserves liao must put back in

REACH
[5:13 pm, 19/06/2020] : Dear Contributors,
REACH is constantly taking note of all the feedback and suggestions shared on our WhatsApp chats, and will send them to relevant authorities for consideration.
Thank you

[5:14 pm, 19/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
Reach not the right platform to feedback on some one flouting the rule in covid matter then which platform is?

CQ
[5:18 pm, 19/06/2020] : πŸ‘ daebak!

Rama
[5:14 pm, 19/06/2020] : Okay

Rama
[5:14 pm, 19/06/2020] : πŸ‘Œ

[5:14 pm, 19/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
Just because they wear political shirt means they are immune from discussion?

Alvin
[5:15 pm, 19/06/2020] : OneService app bro

Alvin
[5:15 pm, 19/06/2020] : wah lai liao

Ken
[5:16 pm, 19/06/2020] : πŸ‘Œ

[5:16 pm, 19/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
Did I see them in person?
If no how to report in one service app?

Alvin
[5:17 pm, 19/06/2020] : just save the picture and report date time and place lor
[5:17 pm, 19/06/2020] : based on if you trust the person who uploaded the photo

Timothy Low
[5:17 pm, 19/06/2020] : Ask FAP to report

Blue and White Flag Guy
[5:17 pm, 19/06/2020] : Why you sound hostile again ah

[5:18 pm, 19/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
Unless the pictures you see and take else cannot report to one service apps.
The one platform is through REACH.

Ken
[5:18 pm, 19/06/2020] : Can we drop that topic πŸ˜…

Alvin
[5:18 pm, 19/06/2020] : REACH is usually for policy feedback bro

Rama
[5:18 pm, 19/06/2020] : Agree

Rama
[5:18 pm, 19/06/2020] : We have more important issues to deal with!

Lim
[5:24 pm, 19/06/2020] : Perhaps REACH could come up with small awards to recognize those users who have provided valuable feedback. This will give us a sense that what we said here are going somewhere useful

Blue and White Flag Guy
[5:24 pm, 19/06/2020] : I'd rather not

Danny

Alvin
[5:25 pm, 19/06/2020] : REACH is a feedback aggregator for all Ministries and Agencies. I don't think they will keep track of all the feedback status, etc

Alvin
[5:25 pm, 19/06/2020] : you have government issue?

[5:26 pm, 19/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
How you define issue?

Alvin
[5:26 pm, 19/06/2020] : How would you define issue?

Lim
[5:26 pm, 19/06/2020] : From the behavioural psychology point of view, i think that it is hard to stay motivated in an online forum without sense of return over the long term

[5:27 pm, 19/06/2020] ☸️  Danny εΏƒ:
As long as reach acknowledge, then any issue can be raised.

Ken
[5:27 pm, 19/06/2020] : 🀦‍♂️ can both side just stop.. no point going on like that. πŸ™

Lim
[5:27 pm, 19/06/2020] : The feedback mechanism need to be there.. cause talk but don’t know what is useful a bit hard to be productive.

Danny

Eunice Chia
[5:28 pm, 19/06/2020] : Need to be 1m apart if from different households?

Blue and White Flag Guy
[5:29 pm, 19/06/2020] : Eh Danny Chian Leong Zen Beng stop ah

Alvin
[5:31 pm, 19/06/2020] : it's ok lah
[5:31 pm, 19/06/2020] : REACH have taken note of his feedback
[5:31 pm, 19/06/2020] : trust me they will take note of feedback one
[5:32 pm, 19/06/2020] : but don't expect them to reply the status of that said feedback

Ken
[5:32 pm, 19/06/2020] : One service app will feedback one

Alvin
[5:32 pm, 19/06/2020] : all i'm saying is going directly to the executive branch will be faster
[5:32 pm, 19/06/2020] : direct to the agency or ministry will be faster

Blue and White Flag Guy
[5:32 pm, 19/06/2020] : PREACH!

Ken
[5:32 pm, 19/06/2020] : I am quite impress by the app

Alvin
[5:32 pm, 19/06/2020]: and you may get reply from them actually

Blue and White Flag Guy
[5:33 pm, 19/06/2020] : Live example here if anyone wants to hear

Alvin
[5:33 pm, 19/06/2020] : πŸ‘πŸ»
[5:33 pm, 19/06/2020] : walking talking example

Blue and White Flag Guy
[5:33 pm, 19/06/2020] : You can complain all day long but if you don't make an effort to make yourself heard, nothing will get done, nothing!

Leonard Lau
[5:37 pm, 19/06/2020] : Yeah .. impressive . I reported a sewage problem few days back and it s solved with a day .

Sam
[5:38 pm, 19/06/2020] : As long as you start seeing government implementing some of the feedback and suggestions here, that's the motivation to carry on.

Blue and White Flag Guy
[5:39 pm, 19/06/2020] : Could take a bit of time to get to that momentum, I don't even know how long my frenemy relationship with LTA is for already haha

Sam
[5:40 pm, 19/06/2020] : Although some of the feedback  government may have already pay attention or thought of, but a little push from us may see quicker implementation

Blue and White Flag Guy
[5:40 pm, 19/06/2020] : But if you press on and show that you do not have malicious intentions, government agencies will be more than happy to work with you - don't forget, LTA initially took a few months to reply me and this timeframe became as short as just 1 week!

Alvin
[5:40 pm, 19/06/2020] : sometimes it's not that certain things aren't heard or done but the timing isn't right or it's in the pipeline but is waiting for prerequisites to be completed first
