Iran-Saudi ties: China-brokered ‘win-win’ deal could bring Yemen war to a close, analysts say

Tehran and Riyadh have agreed to restore diplomatic relations following the Beijing-led talks that experts dubbed as ‘a major development in the Middle Eastern diplomacy’

Analysts say the easing of tensions between the rivals could also prompt Saudi and Iran to end hostilities in Yemen by agreeing to a ‘face-saving’ resolution

1. Very good initiative on the part of China mediator role.

2. The best outcome is for China and Saudi to persuade Iran to forgo its nuclear weapon programme - this will prevent war from erupting as the anxiety to bomb the nuclear reactors will not happen.

1. Dwelling on pragmatism :-

a. If Iran proceed to enrich its uranium to weapon grade nuclear - it will invoke unhappiness and insecurity among all the Gulf Countries.

b. Saudi will be unhappy and will also want to scramble for nuclear.

c. This will destabilise the peace in the whole Gulf region.

2. And instead of feeling more secure with nuclear, Iran will immediately elicit US and its allies response - to take out the nuclear reactors.

a. Bearing in mind that there are lead time to enrich the nuclear to weapon grade.

b. There are still years to go to put the nuclear into missile warhead.

c. War will have already erupted.

d. Nuclear will not make Iran safer - in fact, it will make Iran less safe and face immediate strike threat.

@Babe B.

3. Dwelling on something that is sensitive - but hope people will have a rational and sensible mind - to digest the following piece of information :-

a. Jews, Catholics, Christians and Muslims - all come from the same lineage, and the same roots - with faith essentially worshipping the same Divine.

b. Why would different branches of the same tree, same trunk and the same root - kill one another?

c. Shouldn't faith preach peace and coexistence - and respect one another?

d. Now present the opportunity for Middle East - to come together to negotiate peace. It is a very rare opportunity.

e. For the 1st time, the Sunni and Shites has forge peace - with the Chinese playing a mediator role.

f. The Jews has make peace with many Muslim Countries - with Christians go in between to mediate peace.

g. War and hostility has caused too many death in Middle East. Won't this be a rare opportunity to go for Long-Term Peace, and forge opportunities to promote business and prosperity?
