HP has their own storage unit - specifically their EVA series and the newly bought 3Par storage series.

Why need to buy another storage company - EMC?

Previously, HP have their own Managed Services and Outsourcing unit - but went ahead to buy EDS for their Managed Services and Outsourcing.

With duplication of services - got into financial trouble with big layoff - from the 2 units.
