Singapore will cease its haze mitigation measures from Saturday (Nov 7), including ending the distribution of N95 masks to vulnerable Singaporeans and daily advisories, amid improving air quality.
π End of Haze Mitigation Measures
Mask collection will conclude on Saturday, said the National Environment Agency (NEA) on Thursday.
Air-conditioned rooms at Community Clubs and selected Residents’ Committee and Residents’ Network Centres designated as haze shelters will also close at the same time. The inter-agency Haze Task Force will also be stood down.
π Deactivation of Healthcare Support Schemes
The Ministry of Health will deactivate both the Public Health Preparedness Clinic (PHPC) Scheme and the Haze Subsidy Scheme from Nov 12.
The Haze Subsidy Scheme provides eligible Singaporeans with subsidised outpatient treatment for haze-related conditions at all polyclinics and participating PHPCs.
π¬ What are your views on the cessation of the haze mitigation measures? Has the Government’s response strengthened Singapore’s ability to respond to future haze situations?
π Resumption of Normal Outdoor Work
The Ministry of Manpower will stand down its haze-related measures for outdoor workers from Nov 7, allowing employers to resume outdoor work without additional haze-related precautions.
π N95 Mask Distribution and Public Health Advice
The distribution of N95 masks to vulnerable Singaporeans started on Oct 14, after 1-hour PM2.5 readings climbed into the very high range.
The masks were distributed in two rounds, with the second round expanding eligibility to Singaporeans aged 60 and above, down from 67, following public feedback. Pregnant women, children aged seven to 16 and holders of Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) Orange and Blue cards were also eligible.
Speaking in Parliament on Tuesday, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment Grace Fu said that close to 30 per cent of eligible Singaporeans had collected their masks as of Oct 29.
Ms Fu added that N95 masks are generally not required for short periods outdoors, and that reducing prolonged or strenuous outdoor activities remains the most important first response to haze.
π Amendments to the Transboundary Haze Pollution Act (THPA)
Following Singapore’s worst haze episode in more than a decade, Parliament passed amendments to the Transboundary Haze Pollution Act on Nov 4 to strengthen the Government’s ability to investigate and hold companies responsible for transboundary haze accountable. The amendments raise the maximum fine for companies found guilty of causing or contributing to haze from S$2 million to S$20 million, introduce new civil penalties of up to S$10 million, and give authorities greater enforcement powers, including the ability to restrict business dealings with errant entities. The changes also allow earlier intervention against activities that pose a risk of haze pollution, even before the haze reaches Singapore.
π Improving Haze Conditions
The haze situation in Singapore has improved following the onset of inter-monsoon conditions and increased rainfall. The number of hotspots and the haze situation in the surrounding region have also improved, said NEA.

> π’ Topic π’ Singapore will cease its haze mitigation measures...
This round of haze crisis, SG govt has taken much stringent measures to penalise those errant companies by passing amendments to THPA bill with more enforcement power,, and ability to investigate and hold the errant entity responsible and accountability
Haze has caused much health hazard to the general public over the regions(malaysia/singapore/indonesia), and affected the country economy sametime
I do appreciate govt efforts for setting up the inter-agency task force, giving the medical subsidy, distributing masks to the needy, protecting the outdoor workers (haze related precaution eg shelters), work/study fm home if nec, updating the public the haze condition, and aircon rooms at CC/RC for those required
Hope indo govt will play a more vital role to deter such haze crisis, as not only affecting own country, but also nearby countries eg SG/Msia
SG govt may have to work closely with Indo govt, and hope the haze (man-made disaster) crisis may not recur again in future
Also hope indo govt dont use "threatening" strategy eg reducing gas supply to SG ...
Hope Msia govt also pass similar THPA bill like SG, so as to put more pressure on Indo govt
The main focus shd be to manage/minimise the effect and stop the recurrence of the haze crisis going forward

For 1 or more weeks, no more haze.
It is a good time to stand down, save the resources and return to normal lives.
[6/11/2026 12:04 pm] LCL Danny εΏ (1st HP):
And indeed, need the heaven to open up, to dispense rain, wind here and at the source to put out the fire and the haze.
[6/11/2026 12:14 pm] LCL Danny εΏ (1st HP):
The Government position has strengthened the position to deal with the errant haze link firms and encourage firms not to source from those firms that burn and cause haze.
Hopefully able to prosecute those that cause the haze.
And hopefully, the subsequent years, haze link firms will stop producing haze.
[6/11/2026 12:15 pm] LCL Danny εΏ (1st HP):
Having say so, it also depends very much on whether the source government is relentless and persistent to keep those firms there in check and provide a long term solutions to control or stop burning.
[6/11/2026 1:09 pm] LCL Danny εΏ (1st HP):
But the measures to provide relief such as PSI readings, Aircon shelter, N95 masks distribution to help the vulnerables, outpatient subsidies for haze related illness etc do help during the thick of the haze.
Hopefully next year and subsequent years, the region could collaborate to ensure source country have conscience and stop producing haze hereon.
[6/11/2026 1:40 pm] LCL Danny εΏ (1st HP):
My close friend comments:-
It's a perennial issue, over 2 decades already.
Just how severe it would be, as wind direction can work in our our favour or against us.
Save these measures in our play book bank.
Responsiveness is key.
I was thinking if vending machines for n95 equivalent masks (for purchase) could be made available on a rationing basis.
