The attack is mindless for no reason.
The victims are young girls.
The victims happen to be Malays wearing tudung.
This will have an impact given the sensitive nature - due to the development of Islamophobia happening overseas.
People will have a tendency to attribute such attacks - with racial and religious overtone.
The quick arrest of the culprit that resort to violence - will help to cool tension.
The reasons for the attack also need to be established - so that it will not stir emotion in our multi-racial and multi-religious society.
Finally, the culprit that resort to violent need to be punished accordingly to the law to prevent such attacks from taking place - and cause unnecessary tension within our society.

Singapore have more important challenges to overcome, specifically :-
(1) to transform Singapore Economy into a high productive Economy
(2) provide well-paying jobs to Singaporean PMETs and Workers
(3) safeguard ourselves against ISIS terrorism
- and should not be detracted by self-induced racial or religious tension bring about by irrational misguided individual.

The cctv around the MRT is helpful - as i believe it helps to identify the culprit and able to nab him quickly.
