While most circuit breaker measures for seniors in Phase 1 continue to keep them safe, what can we do to persuade our seniors to adhere to the safety measures post Circuit Breaker?
There will be more facilities and activities for seniors from June 2 to cater to their psychosocial well-being after the circuit breaker ends, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said yesterday.
However, many precautionary measures will remain for this group in the initial stage of Singapore's reopening, as seniors are especially vulnerable to the coronavirus.
The Ministry said: “In phase one, with more activities and interactions, there will likely be a higher risk of community transmission. Therefore, seniors should continue to stay at home as much as possible. We will continue with most circuit breaker measures for seniors in phase one to ensure that they stay safe.”
To complement precautionary measures, surveillance testing would be conducted to detect cases in the eldercare sector early to limit further transmission. Tests for all staff of residential care homes earlier and testing of all residents is underway. Staff of non-residential care services, namely designated eldercare centres and day hospices, kidney dialysis centres, and home care providers will also be tested.

(1) Printing money or Quantitative Easing and giving citizens to spend to prop up the Economy - is not the right solution.
(2) Because as more money is printed - there will be too much money chasing after too few goods --- and this will lead to inflation.
eg. $10 to buy a chicken - will result in $100 to buy a chicken (as the moeny become devalued.
- and this mean if a person's wealth and house is worth $100,000 - with more money printed - the person's wealth is now worth $10,000.
(3) Though the devalued money will mean more competitive in export - as our goods produced cost less in exchange for currency of importing countries -- but when we import goods (where we import many food, raw materials, semi-finished goods --- our devalued money will mean we need to pay alot more - to buy these goods ---- and this will lead to imported inflation) --- causing our essential food and goods to be more expensive.
(4) Printing of money must be back by our increasing economic output, assets and wealth - not print to give out to the citizens to spend to prop up the Economy - but lead us into a financial crisis.
(5) What we need to do is to :-
- open the Economy step by step in a calibrated approach - to ensure all necessary health safety safeguard are put in place by each industry and business - to ensure infection won't flare up again, and if a cluster do flare up - are well contain within a small confine cluster - without causing cross infection into other clusters.
- when health safety safeguaurd are put in place by each industry and business, then open up --- and make the onus fall onto the business and industry that provide the goods and services - to ensure their stakeholders are protected from infection --- and their stakeholders should include workers, customers, business partners and the public at large.
- After taking care of the domestic economy, calibrated opening up of the external economy --- through mutual arrangement with other Countries to ensure health safety safeguard are in place - in travel, trade, business etc.
eg. test must be conducted on their respective countries before coming here.

(6) Only economic activities such as government expenditure in construction, doemstic projects, business activities and trade --- are useful to grow the Economy and generate GDP.

(1) Printing money or Quantitative Easing and giving citizens to spend to prop up the Economy - is not the right solution.
(2) Because as more money is printed - there will be too much money chasing after too few goods --- and this will lead to inflation.
eg. $10 to buy a chicken - will result in $100 to buy a chicken (as the moeny become devalued.
- and this mean if a person's wealth and house is worth $100,000 - with more money printed - the person's wealth is now worth $10,000.
(3) Though the devalued money will mean more competitive in export - as our goods produced cost less in exchange for currency of importing countries -- but when we import goods (where we import many food, raw materials, semi-finished goods --- our devalued money will mean we need to pay alot more - to buy these goods ---- and this will lead to imported inflation) --- causing our essential food and goods to be more expensive.
(4) Printing of money must be back by our increasing economic output, assets and wealth - not print to give out to the citizens to spend to prop up the Economy - but lead us into a financial crisis.
(5) What we need to do is to :-

Singapore will be reopening its economy in three phases to avoid a resurgence of infection and community spread. In addition, measures such as mask-wearing and safe distancing will remain. On public transport, commuters must wear masks and refrain from talking. Dining in will be disallowed in Phase 1 and restrictions on meeting friends and family will mostly remain.
It was stressed that reopening of the economy is not a return to life before COVID-19. Health Minister Gan Kim Yong also noted that measures in the phases could be rolled back should the outbreak numbers rise. Minister Lawrence Wong emphasised patience and discipline as key elements in the phased approach. Said Min Wong: “We have to do this in a very careful and calibrated manner as we don’t want infection rates to flare up again. We also do not want to sacrifice the efforts that we have put in.”

2. So indeed reusable face masks and social distancing are the lives saver as seen by this statistical chart.
3. Thus when the Circuit breaker measures end, we must still enforce the wearing of reusable washable face masks and social distancing measures to ensure we keep the local transmission to a minimum until the vaccines are ready and the whole population are vaccinated.

As we enter the last two weeks of the circuit breaker, preparations are underway for the smooth re-opening of our economy.
However, life is not expected to ‘return to normalcy’ on June 1, as easing of measures will be focused on essential services. Businesses requiring on site work will start preparing for their return to workplaces, with safe distancing measures applied, while those who can work from home can expect to continue to do so.

My friend is an ex-nurse, she was called back to help at expo to take care of the migrant workers; she told me they r disgustingly unhygienic and all of them gather together in one room socialising and not in their own individual rooms, to be away from each other. The whole idea is so they continue to be sick, they don’t want to get well; cause get well means the chances of them being sent home is very high cause companies can’t keep up with paying salaries and they are not working.
My friend helps 3 days a week she says she doesn’t even get paid and doesn’t dare to drink water cause it takes a lot to remove the safety gear to go pee. The migrant workers all suffer from all sorts of illness like diabetes to high blood pressure. They don’t even know they have these illness until they were checked during the virus test; so their food is designed by dieticians to accommodate to not heighten their underlying illnesses. We are too kind already; they don’t want to get well, mingle with each other, don’t listen to the doctors and nurses and the army boys helping out. This is disgusting to treat these frontline workers cause they sacrifice to help. The have comfortable stay, free food, freeWIFI and medical care who wants *to get well?!

My friend is an ex-nurse, she was called back to help at expo to take care of the migrant workers; she told me they r disgustingly unhygienic and all of them gather together in one room socialising and not in their own individual rooms, to be away from each other. The whole idea is so they continue to be sick, they don’t want to get well; cause get well means the chances of them being sent home is very high cause companies can’t keep up with paying salaries and they are not working.
My friend helps 3 days a week she says she doesn’t even get paid and doesn’t dare to drink water cause it takes a lot to remove the safety gear to go pee. The migrant workers all suffer from all sorts of illness like diabetes to high blood pressure. They don’t even know they have these illness until they were checked during the virus test; so their food is designed by dieticians to accommodate to not heighten their underlying illnesses. We are too kind already; they don’t want to get well, mingle with each other, don’t listen to the doctors and nurses and the army boys helping out. This is disgusting to treat these frontline workers cause they sacrifice to help. The have comfortable stay, free food, freeWIFI and medical care who wants *to get well?!

If FW chooses to stay in Singapore, then he has to abide to the strict rules being implemented. Eighteen COVID-19 positive patients who had stayed at community care facility D'Resort for between 38-51 days have been discharged after it was determined that they were no longer infectious to others.
"The Committee deliberated on each of these cases individually, and determined that the patients are shedding dead viral components, detectable through the PCR test, but which are no longer transmissible and infective to others," said MOH. "After careful consideration, the Ministry of Health decided that these individuals can be cleared for discharge."
As an added precautionary measure, these patients are required to be home quarantined for a further seven days, said MOH.

While community cases have been coming down in recent days, Singapore needs to reopen carefully and slowly or chance a large spike in new cases, Health Minister Gan Kim Yong said yesterday at a virtual press conference by the multi-ministry task force on Covid-19.
To help curtail the rise, contact tracing and quarantine efforts will be stepped up to minimise the risk of large clusters forming.
We must remain vigilant, and not to let our guard down simply because the circuit breaker period officially ends on 1 June.
